“will be staying there again”
had a very good time there fairly well located staff top notch will definitly stay there again thumbs up
“Will be heading back”
Wonderful experience, great vacation will be returningccc
“Legends is "Good Enough"”
The staff members at Legends are always friendly. We have returned for the last 6 years. The hotel could use a facelift and the rooms a complete overhaul, but the rooms are cleaned thoroughly daily and the hotel sits on one of the best beaches in the world. It's not the Ritz or even Holiday Inn, but it's clean and it's centrally located in Negril for those who really want to experience the pace, culture and environment of a beautiful island.
“Very Disappointed”
I would never stay at Legends again. The food was not at all impressive, the bartenders and waiters had horrible attitudes and seem offended when ask to do something directly pertaining to their jobs. I have been to the island before and understand that bugs and mosquitos come with but ants and bed bugs should not. The power went out constantly and waited three days to receive a working remote control. Refrigerator and safe were only available to you if you were willing to pay an additional 12. US dollars each, Internet access at 25 cents a minute and after buying the access code. There was a phone in the room with directions on how to order room service and make local and international calls but the phone did not work and they don't do room service. Overall this place was a joke with a bunch of unprofessional people running it. Total crap.
“When On Vacation You Shouldn't Think "I Wish I Was Home At Work"”
July 2011. Hotel was chosen based on on-line reviews. Did I stay at the same hotel as other people? I don’t need anything fancy and I don’t even need a TV. However, what I won’t tolerate regardless of price is filthy rooms and poor service. The room I was directed to was only moderately clean and definitely in need of updating. The A/C was hardly working and by the evening time the A/C stopped working entirely. I was moved immediately next door. In that room, I found female hair between the sheets. I placed my beach towel on the bed and slept on top of it. I slept 5 hours the first night. I was amazed to find the front desk extremely uncooperative with a room change. After more persistence, I was shown to the next immediately adjacent room. This room was also only moderately clean. Worse yet, I was met by one of the largest roaches that I’ve ever seen. I again was amazed ith the genuine lack of concern displayed by the front desk. After 4 hours sleep that night, I checked out of the hotel. My next hotel was much better. I wish that I would have left Legends on the morning after the first night (they refused to refund the portion of the unused hotel stay). I could go on with a lot of other aspects of non-service at the hotel, vendors on the beach, the conditions of Negril in general etc (but I’ll just refer you to other on-line unpleasant reviews). I was not impressed with Jamaica. I’ve never run into the lack of service experienced in Jamaica.
“Horribly Hot and Bad service”
When I checked in to the hotel and went up to the room, the AC was off and it was extremely hot. They also gave me one king bed when I had requested 2 double beds. Then, after complaining to the desk about the AC they kept telling me they would send someone up to fix it. They never did the entire first day. It was miserably hot. Then the next three days I had the same thing. I was supposed to stay for 6 days, I ended up checking out on the 4th day because they did not fix the AC and could not accomodate me to another room with a working AC unit. Furthermore, when housekeeping came to clean, they took the towels to go wash. I needed to shower so I called down to the front desk and they said the towels are washing. They give you back the same towel so I had to wait until maid service was done washing and returned it in order to shower. By the way, I got two towels. I requested a third towel and was told I only get two. The wifi at the hotel did not work well at all. I would never go back nor recommend it to anyone visiting Jamaica during the hot summer months and I am usually not a picky person.
“Great Spot on the Beach”
The hotel was in a great location. Centrally located on Negril's famous Seven Mile beach was definitely a highlight of the property. I stayed on the garden side of the hotel and traffic was stopped whenever I need to cross back over to the beach side. I enjoyed my day at the sister property Samsara. Both were near the water and the cliff jumping at Samsara was as much fun as jumping at Rick's. The staff at the Legends were kind and very helpful with suggestions of things to see on the island. This would be a great place to visit again.
“"We had a awesome time"”
At check in I was a little dispointed that we had no faceclothes but the staff made sure we had plenty in the end. The American food not so great but the carribbean food was GREAT!!!!! Big Momma did a excellent job. Watch out for Cheap Charlie on the beach. The Kubuka Hotel next door has great lobster. The location was great and the staff was so friendly. Overall the rooms were not great but who stays in the room when your vacation. I think The Legend has the best hangout spot on the beach. Just a heads up though, buy your alcohol at the airport when your leaving it's alot cheaper for those friends and family who want jamaican rum back home. O yeah this not a kids friendly hotel alot nake woman on beach next to you catching a tan. Legends sister resort Samsara was beautiful but quiet no action going on over there maybe thats where you should take the kids.
“Ya Mon, We will be back!”
At check in we were disappointed with the size of our "beds". We requested a king size bed, but got two full size beds instead. At first, it wasn't what we expected. But what do you really go to Negril for? THE BEACH!!! It was beautiful and full of characters. We took a walk one day and met Lennox Lewis in front of Margaritaville!!! I still can't believe that it was actually him. Anyway, they pour a strong drink at the hotel and most other places on the beach. The staff was very friendly. The food for breakfast and dinner were decent, but lunch was not that great. Mama, who cooks and serves was incredible. Michael, beach security, was great and made you feel comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable but lacked ample light and facecloths.Thank god the room had a ceiling fan because the A/C wasn't that great. We were steps from the beach on the first floor, Awesome! Say hi to "Cheap Charlie" on the beach(he wears sunglasses up-side-down).He's nice. Kuyaba restaurant is excellent. Say hi to birds "Charlie" and "Buddy". Rick's cafe for cliff jumping and "Dirty Banana" drinks. 3 Dives for jerk chicken on the way back. We will definitely be back.
“Not impressed”
Towels were scarce to not available in room. No face towels at legends or sister hotel. Food just fair. Good location. There was no night manager or telephone operator at night so nobody to speak with when water cut off at night
