Three Acres is peacefully located yet near M1 J38 and close to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the Hepworth in Wakefield, Leeds City Art Gallery and the like. It's certainly worth visiting for its restaurant alone, though don't expect bargain prices.
Based on our experience, the rooms are on the expensive side for what they provide. Ours was warm and clean and in good order (though the television reception was poor), but lacking in little things such as space to lay out toiletries, hooks on which to hang bath robes, and somewhere to sit other than on the bed. All fine for one night's stay but a little tiresome if you are staying longer as we did. The staff were friendly and very helpful and breakfast huge (included in the price of the room).
Requested an early check-in, not a problem, staff very accommodating, even asked if they could get us a coffe on arrival. New owners undertaking improvements, without disruption to residents.
Room very nice, even have direct access to the car park, making access to your room effort free.
Staff were very attentive and made you feel at home.
The breakfast was first class really set you up for the day ahead.
Will Definatly stay here again when the area.
Staff freindly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. It really was good :)
The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent.
Only minor point was that the TV lounge area not very inviting, furniture bland and layout uninviting.
My wife and I visited Wakefield for a friend's leaving party and stayed at the York House Hotel. There is a very convenient restaurant attached to the hotel, so not far to walk for a meal, which was excellent by the way.
this is my first visit to this hotel group and I have to say won't be the last. Rooms very clean and finished to a high standard. Breakfast was very satisfying. Pool was a bit busy but well maintained. Only bad point was that we used the taxi company 'central taxis' who drive like idiots. The first time we put down to bad weather when we we almost hanging out the car on turns. The second time the mad driver accelerated to overtake a moving bus into oncoming traffic almost colliding with 4 cars all who had to stop. Keep up the great work village but change your taxi contact before they kill your customers
