The Old Breezes has blown away!

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Pros: Nothing. Use to love it.
Cons: The happiness of the staff.
Location: Location is great. You can walk to the casino.
I have stayed at this hotel for the last four years in a row and this stay was my last. Staff very unhappy with management and it filters through to the way they treat the guest. Rooms are down to bare bones. Not even a pen to write with! Also no coffee pots in the rooms. The dinning area has been remodeled but the staff is slow and you have to ask for everything two or three times. I finished my breakfast before I was brought anything to drink. The pool staff and bar outside was the only friendly people on the staff.

Pros: It was close to town and you can take a bus or taxi to get there for an affordable fare.
Cons: Well although the food was good it could stand to be improved some.
Location: There is things to do desk located inside the hotel and things like glass bottom boat and snorkeling a whole lot of water sports. Diner crusie

What I expected based on previous reviews

Posted 01-Sep-2014
The hotel staff was very helpful. The overall premises needs some updating such as paint and staining. However, it didn't stop us from enjoying the beach, pool and all-inclusive drinks/food. Our biggest complaint was the bed. It was so uncomfortable that we woke up each morning feeling achy. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel on the beach

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: Nice beach, daily entertainment at the pool and especially the nighttime, variety and quality of drinks, gift shop prices reasonable.
Cons: Hot food should be kept hot, cold food should be chilled, easier access to a la carte restaurants, update hotel appearance.
Location: Atlantis/Paradise Island is expensive but fun. Downtown Nassau is clean & friendly. Fish Fry is a must visit, great food, one platter is enough for 3.
The hotel is a bit dated but the staff was friendly and the facility was clean. The room was comfortable but not exceptional. We were lucky the first 3 days had calm winds which meant the water was crystal clear and quite warm. We had angel fish eating french fries out of our hands. When the wind picked up, the water turned a little colder but still fairly warm. The problem was with the sea weed and sea grass thick in the water. The staff cleaned the beach daily but had no control over the water condition. We were hounded daily by people selling various goods or soliciting for snorkeling, jet ski rentals, etc. We really enjoyed the night time shows. The alcohol did not seem to be watered down like it was in Cancun. The staff was very generous when pouring the alcohol in the mixes. The beach grill was good. The buffet was a little disappointing in that the hot food was barely warm and the cold food was not chilled. There was a Japanese restaurant that was only open on the weekend that proved to be almost impossible to visit. We talked with many people that were denied entry even though there were multiple empty seats. We did not visit the Italian or French restaurants because pants were required and I did not bring anything but shorts. The bus stopped right outside of the hotel which was nice. It cost $1.25/person, which was a bargain compared to the taxi price. Downtown Nassau was about 15 minute ride. Access to Atlantis/Paradise Island was another ferry trip ($4/person).

Could be great

Posted 21-Aug-2014
This hotel is ok if you can overlook the multitude of inconveniences that come up while you're there, like a long check-in process or access cards that need to be reprogrammed daily. On the other hand our room was functional, fairly comfortable, and we had a nice view. The food in the restaurants is fine however buffet is disappointing. Bars and staff are great.

My First All-Inclusive After More Than 20 Cruises

Posted 21-Aug-2014
Pros: I met wonderful people from all over the world ~ When we were together it was as if we were all one age, one color and all accepting of each other!
Cons: Have a manager available for guests that wish to express concerns. Staff training for those working the front desk. Pool Cleanliness Room Lighting
Location: Fantastic location ~ I loved the beach! Bus to town and Atlantis by ferry or taxi. Horse & Carriage ride around town. Straw market across from Melia.

Good, comfortable stay

Posted 19-Aug-2014
It was clean and comfortable. The food was average I would say, some good dinner meals but weaker breakfasts. The bar service was a little slow, but acceptable. It is definitely a different culture - fun experience!
