“There had been changes...”

This was our third stay in three consecutive years, but there had been some unadvertised changes since our last visit. Our extended family, all of whom brought swimsuits to enjoy hot tub time (many of us were coming from Minnesota and it was January!) were quite disappointed to find on check-in that they had removed the hot tub. We were told it was to expand the workout room, but it looked like the same equipment just spread out more. Our room, though clean, had a burned out light bulb and a broken towel bar. We found the cleaning crews and related personnel to be friendly, but the desk clerks were less than friendly. The lobby is remodeled now into a vaguely Asian-trendy-upscale place which has little relevance to the rest of the hotel.

Area recommendations

Brentwood is a lovely place to stay if you are visiting Vanderbilt University. It is only 15 minutes from Vandy, and has many standard shopping conveniences, coffee shops and restaurants nearby.

“Surprised for a Three star rating”

This hotel was very pleasant, clean and close to a few restaurants. The breakfast buffet is an extra cost but looked/smelled very good. We opted for McDonald's right next door. For the price this hotel was nice and clean.

“Good buy when getting discount price”

No wireless internet was inconvenient. Hotel was rather high priced for its plain appearance - OK if you get a good discount price. Walls are thin - we could almost make out normal conversations in adjacent room. Location is convenient to freeway. Staff was friendly.
