This is a great hotel for making a short trip to Nara. The room was pretty small, but since we mainly used it to just drop off our bags and shower, we didn't need much more than that.

Great hotel for the value I paid in Japan. Very close to Kyoto station but not the main area. However, still walkable. I enjoyed my stay, stuff are very friendly, cafe is handily down stairs and overall good value

Small space but extremely comfortable, it was great for what I needed and in a convenient location as well. Close to the train station and to Nara park.

Highly recommended, great location, friendly staff
The hotel is in a perfect location. Close to the JR station and local sites. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were wonderful, warm, and friendly. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Nara.

Close to sightseeing spots
The hotel is located on a street leading to the major sightseeing spots. The street itself is quiet and pleasing with many shops. The hotel was pleasing and comfortable.

Polite personnel. Room small, stuffy. Pillow extremely hard (supposed to be with two levels of softness, but were both very hard). Matress was very hard, uneven. Unconphortable. Breakfast choice extremely limited, could not communicate to waitress in English.

Good location but overpriced
The hotel was only ok. We stayed at similarly priced hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto, and both of those were much much nicer than this one. They were both cleaner, and more modern. What the Nara Washington has going for it is its location and its lobby, and that's about it. Also, if you like a colder room at night, you'll have to leave the window open as the HVAC seems to only kick out heat at night (at least in the fall).

Convenient location for JR / Kentetsu Stations. Accommodations are so basic they do not even include a toothbrush in the event you needed one.

Hotel was difficult to locate. Sits back from other businesses and I walked by it 2-3 times before I actually noticed the entrance. Even walked by after staying there for a night. Needs a sandwich board or some other notice of entrance.

Great location
It locates in the middle of the train station and the Nara Park and a Lawson is right in front of it, which make it a fantastic choice. It's budget!

Value: You get what you pay for
Small room for western visitors. Only room for any activity was on the bed. Only three Coat hangers. Room was very warm, we had to open a window to get the temperature down. It's reasonable value but you get what you pay for.

clean and friendly. conveniently located.
First of all the location is great. It is on a busy touristic street with many restaurants, bars, convenience stores. It is 5 min walking distance from Nara Station (trains, buses). It is just 20 minutes walk from Nara Park and several shrines. The hotel is clean, and my room was cleaned daily without fail. The staff is friendly and speak some English. The rooms are small by American standards, but I've stayed in smaller hotel rooms both in Japan and in Europe. I have not tried their breakfast.

Great help from staff in time of need
My wife and I were travelling with my younger brother and his wife. On the train ride to Nara my brother began suffering from a bad migraine headache. We arrived 3 hours prior to check-in time, but the manager immediately made a room available for my brother so that he could rest in a cool, dark, quiet place. Additionally, the staff brought him an ice pillow to help give him comfort. I really appreciated the staff's willingness to accommodate him while he was suffering.

Everything I needed in a Japanese business hotel.
The Nara Washington Hotel Plaza provided everything I needed in a business hotel: A convenient location, easy to find from the railroad station; a clean, comfortable room; efficient, trouble-free service from everyone; a great breakfast included with the room. And all at an eminently reasonable rate. I readily recommend the Nara Washington Hotel Plaza, and will use it or others in the Washington Hotel Plaza chain whenever the opportunity arises.

Simple yet functional
The location of this hotel is lovely since it is close to both the JR station and the Kintetsu station. It is surrounded by plenty of food shops, convenience stores, and other fun shops. The rooms themselves are basic, but they work just fine. The pillows leave much to be desired in my opinion, but other than that, it is quite fine! The free wifi is awesome as well. I have stayed in both a single and double room.

Stayed there for a day for business trip. The room is too small. The breakfast in not buffet, I would recommend the restaurants outside the hotel its much cheaper. If you need just for a place to sleep then I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very good for out sightseeing trip. Easy to find and conveniently located. Room had a bit of a tobacco smell but that could be due to the air conditioning system, which could only be set to heating.

The room was very small. Nothing was worthy in that hotel. It's better to stay in a capsule hotel than that hotel. At least you can save money.

Don't let the name fool you
The room is small, but acceptable in Japanese standard. The blanket-sheet is small, so small that it barely covers the bed. The room is supposed to be non-smoking, but an ask-tray and the smell remains.

we all know Japan can be expensive - this was actually the most expensive stay on our time there. the room was certainly the largest - quite tired - low on extras - not even a bottle of water provide - staff were helpful - location was convenient for station and street life

Location is great, and right on the shopping street. Staff are as you'd expect from Japan - super great and friendly, and can speak enough English to get by without much issue. The single rooms provide 2 pillows: hard, plastic pellet filled one (typical for a JP business hotel), and much softer ones. (more Western hotel style) Too bad the same can't be said of the mattress, which is the same as sleeping on a Japanese futon - hard. Room amenities and design are typical for this price in Japan, things are a little bare, but the prices are good.

Nice Nara location
The rooms are small here but clean and staff accommodating. Very convenient being near the JR and Kintetsu stations. Convenient shopping and restaurants too. It is on a one way street, so not much traffic although a late hours pachinco place across the street. Cafe downstairs had good food for breakfast.
