“Beautiful resort for fun in the sun”

Beautiful resort! The pool area was the big draw for us - many pools, lazy river and easy access bars! Great service and maintained well. Not many choices for food.

Dining

The Hyatt Regency is the neighboring hotel that you can use. Not within walking distance unless you are up for exercise. The restaurants are delicious - Tarpon Bay was our favorite! Affordable, beautiful outside porch, great staff and excellent food!

“Great Family Vacation Spot if you like sun and fun!”

As our second trip to Coconut Plantation, the only surprise for us that we had booked a 2 bedroom and when we got there we had a 1 BR + a Studio that included 1 BR with sitting room, Bathroom, and kitchenette. Both rooms were in single hallway but had separate keyed doors connecting rooms. We solved the problem by propping our doors open so that our kids would not get locked out accidentally (and these 2 rooms are the only rooms in this locked entry hallway). Worked out well but just giving a heads up that this may be the accomodations if you book a 2BR...but they do also have regular 2BR layouts also.

Area recommendations

Check out the new outdoor mall...lots of shops and restaurants there.

“2nd trip”

The condo was fantastic as were the grounds. Clean, nice floor plan. The pool, lazy river all very relaxing. We would go back again.

“Very nice, clean hotel.”

We stayed in the vacation villas. In the extra bedroom (not master), the water heater was in the closet, which we found very loud and annoying, especially in the middle of the night. That was not a very good place to install the water heater.

“Perfect for little ones”

We went here for Thanksgiving with our 3 kids and their grandma. The hotel was well suited for smaller kids, ages 3-10 will love it here. The pools were heated, including the lazy river. There's not much to eat around the hotel, but there are several grocery stores within a few miles and the in-room kitchens are perfect.

“Property invites planned or spontaneous visit”

Proximity to Ft. Lauderdale makes this resort attractive to a planner or spontaneous guest. The amenities were plentiful sharing both hotel and condo facilities. Studio was just lovely and spacious with a golf course view from large screened terrace, however at times cozy with neighbors. Windy conditions did not allow visit via ferry to private beach but pools and Jacuzzis were perfect. Tennis was challenging due to weather but no wait! Great jazz band at hotel on weekend although not in best location for sound. Very close to numerous wonderful restaurants off properties. Front desk genuinely concerned about guests' overall visit. THUMBS UP!

Immediate area for restaurants plus visit to nearby islands.

Recommend considering the time share condo at this Hyatt as you get so much more in accommodations staying in a studio or 1 bedroom unit vs. an ordinary hotel room. PLUS if you prefer to escape the hubbub of a hotel atmosphere it is much more private.

“Very relaxing”

We had a great time. The staff was incredible. The kids loved the lazy river and the water slides at the Hyatt Resort next door. The only problem is the no see ums. Take insect repellent.

“We couldnt have asked for anything better or more beautiful!!!!”

i dont even know where to start! the room was so clean, there were even dishes in the cabinets, and a blender! there was a screened balcony in every room, (no bugs). the pools and the landscaping were all perfectly manicured, there wasnt a grass blade out of place! the lazy river was amazing, not an experience you can have just anywhere, there was a half court basketball court and volleyball court! anything you could want to do, people are also welcome to take advantage of the hyatt regencys pools and restaurants, (and are welcomed by the staff) the boat ride to the island and a blast, we saw a dolphin. now about the staff, they go above and beyond, if you want to know anything from the front desk they dont hesitate to offer to find out and call you back, if you dont have to depart till after room check out time, they make you feel more then welcome to stay the rest of the day and help yourself to the shower facilities in the bathrooms. i cant tell enough to how pleased we were with our choice! we were on our honeymoon by the way, and was great to have a friendly environment, really seemed welcome to anyone, very family oriented.
