“Poor service”

After staying mostly in 3 star hotels on the Amalfi Coast, I decided to upgrade to a 4 star in Naples. Given the less than stellar things I had heard about Naples, I really wanted a secure location. Ironically I ended up liking Naples and being disappointed in the Majestic. The front desk service was poor, the internet was expensive ($15/hour) and you had to tell them how long you would be online in advance (hard to tell) with no ability to extend that so it just shuts off even if you are in the middle of buying a train ticket! The last morning I had no electricity in my room! This meant I couldn’t even raise the slats blocking the windows so had to pack in the dark! As a result of dealing with the this situation, I was delayed and missed my boat. Given all of the hassle I actually expected they were going to offer me a discount or something and, incredibly, they tried to charge me more because the room I had moved to was on a higher floor (even though it had no view)! When I had left my prior hotel both the owner and his uncle hugged and kissed me good-bye; in contrast my departure from the Majestic included my having to demand to see the manager. While I found the hotel disappointing overall, there were some positives: the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet and the location was safe for a woman to walk around on her own at night.

“Nice Naples Hotel”

The hotel is nice and the food is good. We did have a problem with the hotel charging for the room after we had already made payment to Expedia. However, Expedia refunded this overcharge.

“Nice hotel. Pity about Naples.”

Comfortable 4 star hotel. friendly efficient service. air conditioned room, bar etc. good food in restaurant but very limited menu. Close to English church where also found friendly reception (10 am Sunday). If you need to stay in Naples this hotel is a good choice. But Naples is a dump; much nicer out of town eg Sorrento.

“A good value”

A good place for my first 3 nights in Naples. The room was comfortable and a good value. The location was convenient to many of the tourist spots and the waterfront. The restaurant was too quiet and the food at the bar was not very good. Instead opt for the "Takeaway Pig" on the corner.

“Modern Hotel in Great Location”

Enjoyed staying at the Majestic, the hotel is not exciting but is wonderfully modern and clean throughout. Rooms are very comfortable. It is wonderfully located in the safe and upmarket area of Chiaia, with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby.

“Okay for an overnight, but...”

Nicely located and safe. Room was nice but dated and the room was minuscule. Dinner wasn't inexpensive but quite tasty. The desk clerk stopped a friend from coming to my room even after my okay. When questioned later I was told for 30 additional euro it would have been allowed leaving a bad taste for the place. The hotel had no internet service in the hotel or nearby.

“Best in Naples for a fair price.”

Had heard that Naples was dirty and not safe prior to our visit. We were extremly surprised that this hotel was if the best part of Naples next to the high end shops. Hotel condition was in great condition, quite room that was extremly clean. The staff was very helpfull. Subway was walking distance from the hotel and was faster then taking the cab to the train station.

“Great choice”

Very modern and comfortable, close to Via Chiaia and other nice places to visit or go out late afternoon or in the evening. The staff was very helpful in giving directions and recommendations. Definitely a place to stay when my wife and I go back to Naples.

“Not as good as it was”

It seems to have had a change of management, not for the better. It's still a good choice in a central position, but it's now rather pricey; and there is no special rate at week-ends.
