“Service deficient”

Hotel advertised Wi-Fi but it didn't work and no effort to accomodate us was made even though adjoining hotels had service. Hotel under construction with no advance notice. No recommedations for dining out were offered. Overall staff very unfriendly.

“will come back again”

Nice hotel, friendly service, convenient location. The only downside was the fact that the hotel bar was closed due to renovation. Be sure to negotiate the price before you take a taxi. Naples taxi drivers often do not switch on their meters and ask for high rates.

“Great location to ferries to Capri...”

This is a upscale hotel on the waterfront in Naples. The views especially at night are magnificent...easily accessible to vaporettos to Capri..warnings however not to venture out in the evening because of pick pockets so we never really saw Naples itself. Loved Italy

“Good hotel in great location”

Like some other reviewers we were rather surprised by some of the negative comments about the Grand Hotel Santa Lucia. We had a room with a fantastic view overlooking the seafront. Without exception all the staff, both in reception and in the restaurant, were helpful, polite and friendly. The location was great, with plenty of local restaurants and the hotel breakfast was good. We'd definitely consider staying at the same hotel if we returned to Naples.

“Naples excursion”

My wife and I went to Naples for a wedding, we were suprised to find Naples to be a very dirty city, it makes New York not seem so bad. The hotel experience was as expected, the staff were accomadating and the room was well appointed, the only problem my wife and myself ran into was the bed was uncomfortable, the matress was extremely hard. The hotel is located in probably one of the best spots in Naples, you can walk to the ferry, about 20 minutes and head over to Capri to get away from the whole city experience. The food everywhere was simply amazing!

Area recommendations

I would recommend going to Capri, and be careful what neighborhoods you go through, Naples has many bad sections.

“Excellent Hotel”

The hotel is very well located at the beach line. Very comfortable, very clean, rooms are very spacious, an excellent breakfast, staff very polite. Close to many restaurants and coffee shops. Close to the ferry station to Capri. Definitely I would stay in it again if I would ever come back to Naples. The city is not well maintained, in that normal Italian way, giving me a very bad impression.

“perfect hotel”

The santa Lucia is in a wondeful position on Naples bay looking out over castle Ovo. lovely service, we were upgraded because it was my birthday, very good breakfast, although they do need to do something about the dreadful coffee, as other guests have pointed out! Hotel near to everything. Our room looked out over the bay with a balcony and was perfect. I would have love to have stayed two more days to add to our three! Free internet was a bonus too, You must go, it is wonderful.
