“consistentely excellent hotel.”
location, cleanliness, amenities, service, are all excellent. we have been to this hotel several times, and were always very satisfied. the "in-room-kitchen" makes it a great value, especially for families.
“Naples best family deal!”
Confortables rooms, nice pools, wonderful beach, great service!
“Great stay! looks better than the pictures!”

“In a weird way the best you could possibly hope for.”
Went for this hotel as it was the only one i could find that had direct access to the beach in Naples (not a shuttle or small walk) and wanted something that was personal, had a private beach and wasn't a big complex. It delivered on all accounts. If you are looking for spotless, sterile and a 5 star service then this is not for you, we booked a 2 bed bungalow suite on the beach (room 131) and although it was basic and slightly worn it really did the job, it didn't feel as if we were in a hotel at all and 5 steps from our patio was the beach, 25 steps the pool, 30 steps the sea. I have to say it was possibly the best located room i have ever stayed in. And it had a kind of charm, the air con rattled, the storm shutters looked like they had seen some action and the windows were salt sprayed...it was perfect. Dolphins passed heading west in the morning and returned heading east in the evening, pelicans, dragonflies, all kinds of birds and the constant noise of the waves gently breaking...i've stayed in some pretty amazing Ritz Carlton's that would beat the service, decor, and style of this place, but not the location...it was laid back and if you take it at that you will be content. Final advice. Definitely get a beach room on the ground floor. Go July-August (nicely quiet) and don't expect too much and you will have a great time.
“Flintsone-esque Throwback. Very Disappointed”
THE PROS: Beautiful beach. Clean neighboorhood. Great view from our balcony. Friendly staff. THE CONS: Driving to the EBH my wife passed the address. I told her "you just passed it" she said "no way" I said "yes way." The place looked to be a renovated condominium complex. The south-end suites (where my spouse and I was first placed in) was nothing short of shocking disappointment. The elevator leading up to our floor was extreemly hot and the pait on the walls was peeling. The door had an antique handle and looked to be burglar-friendly. The inside of that room was off the chain! Rusted fridge, Horrible miss-matched furniture that appeared to be hand-me-downs from the Goodwill store. Filthy ceiling air vents. My wife was at the verge of crying. We complained about the above-mentioned observations plus mentioned that the EBH photos in the internet did not resemble this place. They did put us in a smaller (but more updated styled room) for the rest of the week. One o'clock in the morning the air-conditioner broke down. Since the security guard that was sent to my room to investigate had no clue to fix the AC I was offered the choice: a fan or move to another suite. I opted to fix the AC myself. Which I did. The next day the nice manager credited my room $100 and sent up a cheese and fruit plate for my experience. Oh. No phone reception Corporate level managment at the "Waldorf Astoria Collection" shold be ashamed associating themselves with that title.
“beware! not all the rooms look like on the internet photos”
This hotel does not deserve to carry the "Waldorf Astoria" name! It certainly looks nice on the photos of their website and it had good reviews, plus it is a Waldorf Astoria hotel, reasons why we decided to give it a try. However upon arrival we had a little surprise: no renovated rooms were available for us, so we were given one of the old ones (in very poor condition): furniture was old and damaged, air conditioner wasn't powerful enough to keep the room cool, the roof was falling apart due to the mold and humidity, the kitchen was wet from a roof leak, the bathtub pipe was clogged, DISGUSTING! We were extremely upset, and after complaining we were transferred to a renovated room the following day (staff was very helpful and polite). If you are looking for a vacation to relax, pamper yourself, and not having to worry about anything else I would recommend you spending an extra 50-100$ per night and maybe stay at the Ritz or something like it. If you just want a place to sleep, and spend the rest of the day on the beach then you should be fine (the pool is just ok). Oh and by the way the beach umbrellas were for rent at over 20 bucks per day while we were there! what a rip off!! The restaurant has good food. The beach was awesome. The staff is very helpful. Location is great.
“"it's an average hotel"”
The hotel overall is good and we had a good experience; but these are some things I didn't care for: We arrived at 4 pm to check in and the room wasn't ready, we had to wait 15 minutes. Very small pool, not impressed; very good view of the beach and great location. They offer $25.00 credit per room per night but if you do not ask about it they do not deduct it from your bill; they offer complementary breakfast for kids below 17 but if you do not talk about it they charge it to your bill. The hotel charged $15.00 per night for self-parking!!!! We were at the beach at night talking pictures of my kids playing with a frisby and one person from the staff of the hotel told us we cannot take pictures because the flash affects the turtles and the hotel can get in trouble with the county. You have access to the Naples Grande Resort and that is a great hotel!!!!
“Depends on your room”
Like some of the other reviews, the first room we had, which was not in the Tower, was not good. It smelled stale/damp, the furniture was beat up and stained, the decor did not match, the faucets in the bathroom and tub had hard water stains all over them. Not luxurious at all. But we were able to change our room to one in the tower and it was 100 times better. Much more clean and comfortable, updated, modern and looked more like the lobby, which was very nice. Hotel staff extremely friendly. Nice that it's right on beach and you can get your food delivered there from pool side bar if you like. Overall, a really good experience though it started off really rough.
“A terrific blend of hotel styles, providing "high end" service- ambiance w/ casual on the beach fun”
I would diefinitely go back. My preference is to go beach front properties that have a casual approach but yet provide very nice added ammenities and service. Ranging from great pool side and on-site food and beverage offerings to walking around in my swim trunks and a t-shirt, to beach side wait staff and service to in-room kitchenettes for self service food and drinks (especially for families and kids). I also noted that several families and couples or individuals were repeat visitors as they commented about past trips there and the wait staff new many of their names from prior visits. All in all a great combination of service, casualness, reasonably priced food /drinks (not cheapest and not most expensive I've had - some of which can be off-set by in-room offerings), and a clean and hip environment. Further, the room was fresh, clean and spacious and had a recent (within 5 years) renovation. The colors and look and feel to the property was perfect for what *I* was looking for.
“Not Impressed”
The location of this resort was great, the beach and pool were amazing. But the resort needs to be updated. Our room was musty and we had mosquitos. The air conditioner was set at a temperature and we couldn't lower it....so we uncomfortable every night. The toilet ran all day and all night...which we complained about and they said they fixed it, but really didn't. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the tub never drained. It's too bad because the resort has the perfect location right on the beach...but definitely would not stay there again until the resort is completely updated.
