“If you have any other option, do not stay at this hotel”
We stayed at this hotel as it was the only one we found close to the airport and we had an early flight the next day. This hotel was disappointing in all aspects. It is old and run down, there is no bar, the room was cramped and hot, all fittings and fixtures were old and tired. The surrounding area to the hotel is very unpleasant - not only dirty (rubbish on the streets - including a dead rat), but also did not feel safe. The safest and cleanest option for us to find an evening meal was at the airport - which by the way was fantastic (we were surprised!). We didn't sleep a wink here due to the air conditioning not working. The porter even put his hand out and insisted on a tip (this didn't happen at any other hotel in Italy). This was a black spot in our holiday, and in hindsight we would have got up at 4am in Sorrento and drove to the airport rather than stay here. Take our advice and avoid this hotel. If you are forced to stay in Naples, find a 4 or 5 star in the city and get a taxi in the morning. We loved all other places in Italy we stayed- we are not normally fussy travelers. But this was one out of the box!!
“Scary area of Naples”
We chose this hotel because it was the only airport hotel in Naples and we had a 6:40 am flight. I knew it was not in a great neighborhood and would be a marginal hotel. In retrospect, I wish we never stayed there. Yes the hotel did back up to the car rental return and it was beyond convenient for us but that is as far as it goes. In my opinion, the neighborhood is beyond scary. When we got to the front door of the hotel it was locked and you had to be buzzed in. In its heyday this was probably a cute hotel but it has not been updated in a significant period of time. Room was large but dated. Cleanliness was okay but not good. Plumbing was marginal and didn't work well. Thought there was a pizzeria next door which there was but it was closed. We had not eaten all day so hotel staff directed us to another pizzeria about 5 blocks away - it was a frightening 5 blocks with more trash than I have ever seen in a city in a developed country. I felt unsafe and out of place. Pizzeria was inexpensive and actually very good but not worth compromising my safety. Would never stay here again - if ever again, I would stay in sorrento and get an hour less sleep and stay in a quality establishment.
“l;ocation only plus”
we stayed here as it is the ONLY hotel you can safely walk to from Naples Airpoort and that was all we needed this hotel to do. It is fine, overpriced for the quality of the hotel but staff is friendly and it served our purpose.(no hot water in showers but easy access.)It could use some maintanence work .Pizza restaurant next door was easy and ok food.
“Charming International--NOT Charming!”
The hotel is a brisk 15 minute walk to the Naples airport terminal but all on the airport premises guarded by fences and security. The room smelled very bad, like mold and the hotel is situated next to the highway. High traffic noise all night long. The blankets were very worn and shoddy. This is not a hotel to stay at if you expect much sleep. I will never stay here again nor will I recommend it. The staff was very friendly and accomodating as they provided a luggage cart to use and leave at the airport. They also offered to book a taxi if we requested.
“Soo convenient to the airport...”
The airport parking is basically right behind the hotel. You can go out the back door and walk to departures in about 7 minutes. The front desk staff was helpful, friendly and had a sense of humor. The only problem I had was that you have to ring a buzzer to have the front door unlocked, and if the 1 guy on duty is in the bathroom or having a cigarette, you are stuck standing in the street. Although the hotel is older and a bit worn, our room was very clean and we had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, not a cloud but more than fine. Did not see any insects in the hotel. Our room was on the main road but we had a large tile balcony with a table & chairs overlooking it which was pleasant enough. The minibar prices were very reasonable, which was useful late at night since they don't have food services except for breakfast and no vending machine. As far as I could tell, the neighborhood is run down but it isn't as bad as it looks. Felt safe walking in the immediate vicinity at night and in early morning to catch a 7 am flight. It's what you have to expect, I'm not sure of anywhere where the nicest neighborhoods in town are right next to the airport! The U.S. Naval base is right there so lots of Americans around and people tend to know some English. Also this hotel has free internet access in the lobby.
“IF you find it, it's an ok stay”
We spent about 2 hrs trying to find the hotel....only easily visible sign at eye level when driving just says HOTEL. You need to look up to 2nd/3rd floor level to see the name. Not an easy landmark. Stopped 3 times for directions in a very undesirable area, no one had heard of it. Our GPS sent us to a military compound down the road. The hotel is behind gates that are NOT obvious. We called to cancel after spending an hour looking for location. Clerk was rude, said "Not possible" that we couldn't find it. Couldn't speak English well enough to give us better directions. Finally got there with the help of an off-duty policeman who called hotel, read the clerk the riot act in Italian, and drew us a map. Hotel Charming? NOT!!!
“Maybe it was a 4 Star hotel in the 70s”
This is by no means a 4 star hotel! It maybe was in the 70's but is in disrepair and smells. The room we stayed in had cracks in the walls and smelled like a portapotty. The sheets and bed spread had stains all over them and it was completly disgusting. There were only two good things about this hotel, it was right next to the airport, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. So if you don't mind dirt or terrible smelling rooms, go for it. But I would NEVER stay here again.
“Not so much”
Overall, the hotel was OK. Biggest problem is the major road next to the hotel. If you are in the wrong room you get the traffic noise or worse the vibrations from big trucks. If you don't get a room facing the main road then you should be OK.
“OK for one night if you have early flight the next day”
This hotel is a convenient place to sleep right by Naples Airport. However, our room faced the main road, and we had trouble falling asleep due to traffic noise until we put in earplugs. Room was clean and the staff was polite and helpful. The hotel is showing its age. I would stay here again if I had an overnight layover in Naples, ask for a room on the back side of the hotel, and bring a pair of earplugs in case I get a room in front again. Otherwise, I suggest staying elsewhere. Tip: Hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the airport. From Arrival terminal, walk straight along airport driveway, away from terminal and past the bus stops. Take a right at the first road, Viale Fulco Ruffo di Calabria, toward the rental car parking lot. Go past rental car lot and take a left at the road. Hotel entrance is approximately 500 feet further on the left.
“Good for airport access”
When we checked in, the man at the desk told us he would be done with our passports in 10 minutes. 15 minutes later he told us we could get them back the next morning. We told him we would wait and we did for another 15 minutes! I got the idea that this is a family business when the cleaning woman said something to him and he threw a fit starting with "Mama..." The rest of the staff was friendly but this man does not have the temperament to be in a customer service position. Very rude and arrogant! Other than that, the hotel met our requirement of being close to the airport and relatively cheap.
