The geothermal pool was way too hot. Perhaps they could find a way to cool it like they do at Harbin Hot Springs, which is where we ended up going for the two days of our stay. We had to pay $99 each for the membership and travel from Upvalley to Harbin each day if we wanted to enjoy geothermal pools. Also a big issue was that they advertised that they had the filtered water dispenser, but is has been out of order the entire stay. We were able to use the dispenser at Harbin Hot Springs. The last day, Sunday, we booked massages at a local resort and will enjoy their temperature regulated geothermal pools afterwards. So in total, we used Upvalley as a place to sleep only. Not really worth it and we will not stay here again. Very disappointed that EXPEDIA WOULD NOT LET ME CANCEL MY RESERVATIONS WHEN WE ARRIVED AND WERE UNDERWHELMED.

Seems like the rooms were recently renovated/updated and were nice and clean. The steam room and sauna by the pools seemed brand new, clean and well kept. Pool/hot springs area is a bit outdated but still did the trick for a nice spa weekend.

This place was nicely remodeled and I really enjoyed the room and very comfortable bed! My only complaint was the pool and spa could REALLY use a refurbishment! They were outdated and uninviting. The hot springs were the whole draw to the property and we didn't use it much for that reason. Disappointing.

We enjoyed our stay! The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The mineral pool and jacuzzi were very nice to soak in after a day of exploration. Sauna and steam room were nice too! The only complaint would be the accumulation of trash outside the rooms. Multiple bags on the ground and trash outside was not emptied the entire time we were there (2.5 days). Overall, it was nice and I would stay here again.

Loved the sauna and steam room. Took advantage of the free bike for a couple of hours and rode to town and was able to visit the Sharpsteen museum (free admission). Less than 10 minute drive to Castello di Amorosa castle winery.

I was really hoping for a romantic getaway in Calistoga, but felt the property was lacking that ambiance. The two “mineral pools” were chlorinated and basically felt like a regular pool and a jacuzzi. They were crawling with kids, all the way up until pool close. I did enjoy the saunas, definitely the redeeming quality of the hotel.

I am glad i stayed here for my first time in Napa. Not too close to many wineries but not far for many in the northern part of the valley like Castello di Amorosa and Sterling. A short drive (or walk if you'd like) to their downtown with some pretty good dining options. The property eas clean and lived the ice and water machine. I stayed in a king suite with a patio and it was awesome...too bad it rained most of the time. I think this is a good and affordable place to stay and I would recommend it.

The mineral hot springs pool, steam room and sauna were fantastic! We only wish it opened earlier than 9am. Staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and parking was easy. It was very close to the restaurants and shopping, and we will definitely stay here again.

The location was good. The exterior definitely needs painting, and the pool was in sad shape. They need rugs by the interior door to collect debris. The interior of our room was nicely updated and clean.

Good overall stay… small, contemporary, and simple complex, just about a block from Indian Springs Resort and Best Western. Parking was easy and a quick walk to the office. Staff was friendly and processed our reservation efficiently. The room and decor are clean, modern, simple and without frills. We were happy to see robes and a mini refrigerator. The king size bed had spring mattress that was comfy with soft white cotton bedding and included 5 small and fluffy pillows. It was a rainy weekend so the courtyard of the complex was not used, but appeared quaint and comfortable. The hot springs kidney shaped pool is super tiny. We didn’t get to soak as it was full of people, and we felt uncomfortable dipping in close quarters. It was a disappointment of our stay. The pool area needs updating to the same contemporary design as the rooms. It also needs to be much larger for the size of the complex.

Disappointed - No Hot Springs
It was our 20th anniversary, my wife and I were looking forward to relaxing and soaking in the natural hot springs. This hotel offered that. We booked a deluxe king room with balcony and mentioned it was our 20th anniversary. I didn’t expect anything special, just wanted to let them know it was a special occasion. One day before arrival, also one day after we could cancel our stay and receive a refund, I received a text that the steam room would not be working for part of our stay. I was not very impressed with the room. It was basically a room with a bed, there was nothing “Deluxe” about it. The patio was a small deck with two cheap patio furniture chairs; they were dirty and one of them was actually broken. I also noticed in the shower there was some black mold growing on the bottom of the shower wall. Most places would have made sure it was sanitary. Part of our plan was to go on a nice hike through the redwoods and return for a good soak in the hot springs. Unfortunately, the hot springs at this hotel were also “broken”. So much for getting a good soak. Calistoga was founded on the natural hot springs and is one of the main reasons to travel there. Our main reason for traveling there was to relax and partake of the natural healing minerals of the hot springs. The spa and hot springs were the main selling point and were broken. We made the best of our trip and enjoyed the town but as far as the hotel stay, it was a total disappointment. I would not recommend this hotel.

As for the pool not being available, it was something that was out of our control. The pump for the mineral water unfortunately was out of commission. Without the ability to pump the hot water into our pool, we weren't able to open the area for ALL of our guests to use. Common sense right? As I explained to our guests about this issue, most seem to understand that this was unplanned and I could assure you that if there is anything we could have done to prevent it from happening we would have done so. We have applied a discount towards your stay to compensate for this unfortunate event that happened during your stay. We do appreciate our guests who didn't feel the need to come down to the Front Desk and yell a our staff members for something they have no control over. Have a great rest of your day

Nice room and the water was great although the pool area could use a refresh. We appreciated the value. Only negative was the annoying staff kicking everyone out of the pool at 10 like they are talking to their misbehaving children. Really not handled well. There is a way to do it and a way not to.....

Very cozy and comfortable hotel. All the basic amenities where in order. The room was reasonably sized. The bed was comfortable. The pool, hot springs, sauna and steam room were awesome! The folks at the reception were very cordial. Would love to go back!
