We have stayed in several Nantes hotels but were very happy with this one and may become a regular. You will find a GPS helpful to approach it (or about anything else in Nantes) by car, but in foot the location is great. The rooms have been renovated and are "like new". Breakfast hours are gernerous.
The hotel is two minutes away from the Chateau des Duc de Bretagnes andlocated in the old Nantes pedestrian area. This is a great Hotel. It may seem a bit expensive at first but the amenities includes a workout place, a sauna, a wonderful breakfast and an endless apéritif served from 7 PM to 10 Pm in a beautifully appointed salon area. There is also access to computers (not alway a given in a French hotel). Hotel guests have access to any snacks or non alcoholic drinks at any time of day and night for free. Totally worth it.
This was a nice hotel with a big room. The bed was a queen sized bed and the bath was full sized with tub shower combo. It had a kitchenette with sink stove, microwave, flatware, plates and cups, pots and pans, and electric teapot like I had in my other French hotels that heated water about as fast as I can microwave a cup of water for tea at home. It had adequate closet space, two desks, good lighting and a security safe. It was a very comfortable room, had a breakfast downstairs available for I think 14 Euros a person. It was about a mile from the train station whited we easily walked upon arriving. When left, we chose to take a cab and it was about a 10 euro trip. The staff was very kind, quick to speak English for me and were kind enough to assist us with directions and to call a cab for us. It also had a good internet wifi system.
We booked a studio because we liked the idea of a kitchenette where we could prepare simple lunches from items purchased at the local market. Problem was that there was no table and chairs to sit and eat. For this reason, we never used the kitchen facility.
Another criticism is that the booking process over-simplified what was on offer. It wasn't made clear that the deal didn't include daily maid service.
Overall good value for money.
A spotlessly clean, well located hotel. Extremely helpful staff and great breakfast. Would stay here again without question.
It is a little noisy but that is to be expected given the central location - and is beyond the control of the staff. Regardless of this 10/10 for the overall experience at this hotel.
This hotel is very central - easy walking to shops, restaurants and main attractions. The lobby area is spacious and well- maintained and all staff were helpful and courteous. The room was quiet and comfortable and had coffee/ tea making facilities, which I hadn't expected in France. My one quibble with the room was the positioning of the only mirror which was in the darkest, narrowest part of the room, right by an inner door - quite unnecessary as there was plenty of other wall space. No fancy toiletries but a perfectly adequate supply of shower gel. Great shower, fast and hot. We didn't eat in the hotel at all so I can't comment on the breakfast. It would be good if they warned guests that access to the hotel is through a restricted zone and you need a password to get through a barrier. I had to leave my husband in the car in a potentially hazardous position to rush up the street to the hotel to get the password. This would be much more difficult for someone travelling alone by car.
We thought Nantes was a lovely small city, easy to get to grips with and we enjoyed our stay
We recently traveled to Nantes to visit family and stayed at l'hotel la Perouse. We were very pleased with our choice. The hotel is modern (minimalist), immaculate and very pleasant. The staff is fluent in English and couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We chose a room on the tramway side and found it to be quiet. We enjoyed being able to look out the window and see the activity of downtown Nantes. My husband has a mobility issue and being close to the tramway stop was very important to us. We look forward to staying here again and would recommend it without hesitation.

One of the television channels did not work, I advised the staff, they were aware of the problem. Unfortunately, it was not solved yet by the time I left (10 days later...).
There was quite a bit of dust on the woodwork in the bathroom, which I cleaned myself.
I was surprised since my last stay was a lot more enjoyable, I can only hope this is a mishap, and not a trend.
