Nice hotel- safe!

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Just stayed a night! The room was clean just small. It took forever for the rollaway bed yo get up tongue room even after several calls downstairs. Once it came it was comfy and we all had a good nights sleep. It is a VERY safe hotel!!

Great stay next to the park

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Cons: The gourment club that we joined as part of the hotel was fairly unorganized. However we bought the membership and it seems to be good value.
We had a great stay at the hotel - it was our first anniversary and they made it quite special. Though one is unlikely to see any of the big animals, we did see buffalo, gazelles and many birds. The view of the plains is great and for anyone coming in from an international flight, the location is great. The Big Five restaurant apparently is not affiliated with the one in Nairobi but is still good.

Delightful hotel nearer airport

Hotel is peaceful with pleasing local decor. If no need to be in downtown Nairobi, then I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed one night before heading into the Masai mara and it was perfect. Great location to the airports, restaurants and friendly staff.

Although it was brief we enjoyed the facility and your staff were most helpful!

Nice location and view, but not worth the money

Posted 06-Feb-2014
it's close to the airport which is great, and has a fab view over Nairobi national park. However, for the price there is a lot lacking, including why do you have to pay separate for the use of the sauna after a nice workout in the gym, a balcony door which could not be opened, a tube light buzzing and going on and off (and after a gentle nudge stayed off the rest of the night), no airport shuttle despite many people going up and down to the airport all the time, and a room which was far from soundproof which isn't great if you arrive during the day after a long flight and just want to relax. Reservation preferences are not taking into account and so you end up with two single beds rather than a double as asked for. It's going to be time soon as well for a refurbishment of the hotel, as the paint doesn't look so fresh anymore as a few years back.

Don't stay here if you ever leave something behind

Posted 23-Jan-2014
Cons: Customer care doesn't exist.
I arrived late on the 10th January 2014 on route from uk or Tanzania. Everything was ok but I left some possessions behind in the scramble in the early morning. Despite repeated telephone calls and emails I received not one reply and no explanation of where the goods had gone. Customer care by reception, housekeeping and the manager were non existent.

Having arrived at 10pm in Nairobi we picked up a hire car and were at our hotel in 10 mins very easy to find Lovely welcome ,cold beer ,comfortable bed what more did we need .In the morning a fantastic breakfast (only advice try to book this with your room as paying separately was expensive )it's then in a great position to travel from easy to get out of the city .

Worst ever in 33 years of international business t

Can't really comment as I never saw the inside of a room. After flying 9 hours from London and after arriving at the Ole Sereni's reception around 11pm the other night, I was brusquely informed that no rooms were available. The fact that I had prepaid $175 via Hotels.com and had a confirmed reservation didn't count for anything. It was quite obvious that the hotel staff didn't particularly care. I wasn't the only one; there were other wannabe guests in similar situations also stuck. Be forewarned. There are plenty of other hotels in Nairobi with excellent customer service, to say nothing of available rooms, day and night!
