Excellent Staff! Very Friendly and Helpful. Mr. Ambrose, with Security was especially helpful. I arrived around 1am. He greeted me at my car. Grabbed my Bags, waited until I finished my check in process, then carried my bags to my room.

I stayed at this hotel prior and after a Safari tour. The location is great, near many cafes and Nairobi craft market. Very centric. It has security staff at the entrance and all doors and access to the rooms and corridors have secured doors. The rooms are not soundproof though and you can hear voices of people talking and the very loud music from the restaurant nearby, on Thursday the music lasted until midnight and on Friday it went on until 3am. Asked front desk for a room change in the evening of Friday once the music started again and he refused to do so claiming that it was because I have already used the room during the day. There were also small roaches in the room (bathroom and over the table).

Booked though Wotif, the hotel staff have never heard of Wotif. We were due to start a safari the next day and the reception staff advised we should be at a different (sister) hotel so would not check us in, despite having correct paperwork. After some discussion they contacted their other hotel and proceeded to advise that other members of our group had already checked into the other hotel. Following several minutes arguing, our friends arrived. Timing could not have been better! Caught in a lie the reception staff decided a policy of ignoring us would be far easier, preferring to try serving other people. Only by sheer weight of numbers to physically block the desk could we get served. Took 45 minutes to get sorted and get our keys. TIA, people, This Is Africa! Rooms were no better than average, but breakfast food and staff were good and friendly. About the only good point. Don't book here unless you're desperate.

A good hotel for its budget price
This was a good budget hotel, very well located. The restaurant was nice and the breakfasts and meals good.Also staff were helpful, especially the doormen at the hotel entrance.

I had a two overnight and I enjoyed my stay everything was absolutely wonderful. The hotel location is in the heart of Nairobi therefore you can move to any direction you desire.

Hotel overbooked , changed to bad hotel
No room available when we arrived, we were redirected to another hotel far from city centre and very noisy. I spent 2h to find this hotel to be close from center. Totally disappointed !!

Friendly, comfortable, secure, clean and reliable
I have occasionally stayed at this hotel for about 10 years and keep coming back when in transit as it is affordable, centrally located and convenient. The staff are always efficient, helpful, friendly and courteous. The hotel is secure, and although most of the rooms are budget, they are clean, functional and comfortable, all en-suite (the bathrooms can be small). While the hotel is no 5-star establishment, it rates as an institution in Nairobi for the number of years its been around, and for the fact it's very well run. So if you want to keep your bills down, Kenya Comfort is a great low key place to stay.

Best part of this hotel is the helpful staff
Hotel is convenient to shuttles to Tanzania. Staff is very helpful, security walked with our bags to shuttle. We were off on our time by one hour that made us late for checkout and breakfast, but staff very accommodating. The security is extensive. There are locked doors and security throughout. For the price and location, it is adequate. The best part of hotel is the helpful staff.

Our family (kids 5 and 11) had an enjoyable 5 day stay at the Kenya Comfort Hotel. Our first room faced on the street and we changed it to another room on the opposite side and it was much quieter. The hot shower was wonderful, the internet was available and fast on every floor, the breakfast was substantial, and above all, the staff, even the front door guards, went out of the way to ensure that we, including our kids, had a wonderful stay. Thank you Kenya Comfort.

City center hotel
Very bad experience as the hotel did not have basic amenities working. We will never go back there and also make sure that our friends also do not go there. Their toilet flush did not work in our room properly. We are surprised that expedia has it on their list. Furthermore, for the price that we paid it is more than terrible as for the same price we have a beautiful hotel in Istanbul!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi worked decently. My first room, 505, was dim and with a bathroom so small I couldn't fit in and close the door. I was generously allowed to move, into 502, and that was much better. The hotel has no reception area to speak of and has the slowest elevator I've experienced in years. But like I say, staff was helpful, if not always effective.

We have comprehensively renovated our fifth floor which now has all the facilities, amenities and spacing you will admire. Plans are underway to install a new lift to compliment the one in use. Reliable, secure budget hotel
The hotel is secure, clean and has good basic facilities. Inexpensive, it is still conveniently near to the centre of Nairobi. The surroundings are noisy due to the location, but the hotel itself was quiet. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Elevator oops!
Hotel personnel are excellent and courteous. Only problem this stay was the broken elevator! I am not good at climbing stairs, so they did give me an upgrade on the second floor and of course carried everything up and down for me.

If you want to sleep don't stay here!!!
The bed was clean and comfortable, but the hotel is old and unkept. The bathroom, shower and toilet all very old and grubby. This would be fine if it were a budget hotel, but certainly not worth £50.00 a night, way over priced,I feel, but having travelling around Africa this seems to be the norm. Incredibly noisy location, lots of screaming and shouting outside, both nights a car parked outside in the street and played booming loud music most of the night, it vibrated inside the room. The police were not called.

Thank you for your review. Since then, we have renovated our facility and totally replaced everything with new ones. Being located in the Central business district. Some level of noise will be expected more especially on Fridays and Saturdays. These are the days City residents tend to hang out late to have fun. This we don't have much control, but other days are relatively quite. Depending on our occupancy, you can request for a room change through the duty manager. This hotel was very well located with good and friendly security onsite. Bar and restaurant were a reasonable price but you had to watch your bill closely to make sure you were not overcharged. Rooms were functional and better than we expected. In essence it is a cheap and cheerful hotel in a central location.

Not too bad and cheap for the centre of Nairobi.
This is one of the few hotels in the Central Business District that doesn't cost the earth. Good location, but make sure you get a room at the back. There's noisy music most of the night if your room faces the street. The standard room ($50 without breakfast) is a bit small and has no TV, but is en suite. Good security, but don't leave a mobile, laptop, etc. in your room here or anywhere in Kenya.

Inexpensive,safe hotel in the heart of Nairobi
The best thing about the place is its location and the local colour, which you will never see staying at the Hilton or Fairmount. While booking make sure you get a room on the top floor, facing away from the street. As these rooms face south they can get rather hot, so ask for a large room. However, beware that the room descriptions on the websites are not very clear! Be prepared that not all the fascilities will work, yet if you report this, the staff will go out of their way to accommodate you! There is a restaurant on the premises that will feed you, and if you find enough courage to climb through a window (there is no door) onto the balcony, you will be rewarded with a view of the street below which undoubtedly will enhance your meal.

Kenya Comfort is centrally located. Good area to walk around during the day (though my wife had necklace snatched from her throat in broad daylight). Walking distance to Kenya Museum. A good quality cafe just around the corner (3r floor) and Masai Market (a bit of rip off) a block away. Staff obliging, restaurant and bar adequate. Security excellent. Taxis etc able to pick up and drop off at the door. About an hour to the airport in traffic. As we few out at midnight we were able to leave our bags then come back, shower and change for free. A great bonus! Found the prices to be high by Australian standards, charged nearly $aus200 per night for a 2-3star hotel.
