“Traditional J Style with modern touches”

This is a great alternative to staying in monotonous business hotels. Interesting, cultural exchange and Japanese feeling. A great J style breakfast is served and they have a great onsen/sento in the back garden. Yes this place is recommended for business travel or whatever else you might be up to in Japan. Good value.

“Good Hotel in Nagoya”

An oasis in the middle of a bustling city. The web site does not show its full potential. The front desk staff are very nice. Rooms are a bit tight and lack some storgae space. Wifi was intermitent.

“one of the most beautiful Ryokans I know.”

Close to Nagoya Station (with Meitestu Train connection directly to the Centrair Airport "NGO") it is only about a 10 minute walk from there. It has a very beautiful garden and a hot bath house hidden in the back. The rooms are very clean and offer everything a traveler needs. The owner Hiro and his staff are very friendly and I can`t wait to go back for another couple of days. When I called to let him know of my late flight arrival (plus Immigration procedures and the Meitetsu taking about 30 minutes to Nagoya), he was even willing to keep the front desk open past 9PM to wait for me until I arrived. For some reason not many foreigners seemed to stay at the Ryokan during my 2-day stay, but instead I got to make friends with some Japanese travelers.

Area recommendations
Sakae (reachable by Subway or by foot if you don`t mind walking for about 20 minutes) is the downtown area of Nagoya. They have mostly everything there from restaurants to Pachinko/Arcades.
