Udaipur is one of our favourite cities in India. Our 5 day stay was made extra special thanks to the very friendly staff and very clean room with the best shower. The food in the restaurant was also very good. We are a family of 4 the room we had was perfect and the location of the hotel meant we were in the heart of it all.
There is also a hookah lounge where you can relax and watch Octopussy.
Place is very tangy ,not good to stay wid ur family ,m visited with my wife she feels uncomfortable, kitchen was horrible i hd asked for water he just put his dirty hands in bucket for giving a glass of water.
Place is also not good for old people as u hv to climb nany stairs

Very nice family hotel. All the tourist attractions are within walking distance. The best parts are:
Excellent view from the roof top
Candle light dinner
Food to relish and satisfy taste buds
Pool to enjoy with family
I had booked a deluxe room & had requested Mr. Sathya Dev Singh Ashiya to allot me a room on the upper floor with the view of the lake. He had kept up his promise & we really enjoyed a great view of the lake. We could see the Lake Palace hotel, enjoyed a laser show at Jagmandir from the room. The sunset watched from the room was unforgettable. The only problem is proper food served in the hotel since there is no full fledged restaurant & the choice of whatever breakfast & other meals is very limited. However there are quite a few restaurants at walking distance.
Hotel staff need to be improved. No one is available especially in the early morning & we had to wait till beyond 7.15 am for a cup of tea.
We arrived at Zostel late at night but they had kept our room for us. Staff were agreeable.
We chose a private room and found it adequate. Its one distinguishing feature was that there were views of the lake (albeit through the branches of a great tree). It's bare-bones simple hostel-style accommodation. There were no towels and only single sheets on the bed (not top and bottom sheets), but they gave us towels on request. Hot water was working.
The WiFi is free but was not functioning during our visit (the network was on but we could not load web pages or email).
There's a simple rooftop restaurant with nice views of the lake.
Our overall impression was that Zostel is a great idea that would benefit if more attention were paid by the owners, as the staff are sweet and agreeable but they weren't putting in any effort to make the place nice. A regular investment of a little more love and care in the place would go a long way toward making it great instead of merely serviceable.
"Very pleasant hotel with beautiful rooftop terrace"
We were very pleased with the Jaiwana Haveli - the rooms were clean, comfortable and reasonably spacious. The hotel is in a good location, nestled in amongst the windy streets of old Udaipur. For the price we paid, the hotel was very good value for money. A clear highlight was the rooftop terrace, available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with stunning views over the lake and very decent food. Unlike several nearby hotels, the Jaiwana has no rooftop pool, but you can use a neighbouring hotel's pool as a guest for just a few dollars. Overall very pleasant stay.
My room was the Pichola Suite, which is a huge room with two double beds, rather more than I needed, but I fancied a room with a lake view. The beds were on the firm side with fairly cheap, thin mattresses but I didn't find them especially uncomfortable. The bathroom was fitted out to a high standard. The restaurant overlooked the lake and served good food; it was a great place from which to watch glorious sunsets over a cup of Indian tea. I didn't feel the need to explore other restaurants in the area. Breakfast was not included in my package; a continental breakfast was Rs 394.
There are no lifts in the hotel, so anyone with a disability might find getting to the rooms or restaurant difficult.
The hotel is efficiently run and I found all the staff very helpful. Free wi-fi was very much appreciated, especially as other hotels where I've stayed charge exorbitant rates.
