good location

Posted 24-Dec-2014
Pros: location
Cons: see above note
Location: we came for golf and the great seafood.
this could be a very nice place if it wasn't for everything being the cheapest it possibly could be from the building materials to the plastic cooking utensils,no liquid dishwashing soap, towels that are thread bare, sheets that are so worn they don't stay on the bed, cups and glasses don't match, knives and forks are the kind you find at kids camps and the paper towels and toilet paper must be from recycled paper. The location is great and beautiful, the check in and out were efficient but the above mentioned amenities made it feel cheap. Most golfers are not cheap.

Terrific Stay!

We had a wonderful stay at True Blue Resort. All the rooms were spacious and well kept. The view over the 16th green was lovely. A great golf getaway.

You are rolling the dice at this place...

I've stayed here twice. Our first visit was great. A beautiful 3 bedroom unit, well appointed, and clean. We thought we'd come back for our recent visit. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit 54k. This was like a whole different resort. The units are privately owned, so there is no dependability or consistency. Unit 54k has terribly stained carpets, dated vinyl flooring, tasteless furnishings that look like yard sale finds from the 70s, ancient appliances, and beds that have springs that gouge you all night and make so much noise when you move that you would rather lay motionless all night to avoid the uncomfortable maneuvering that you must do. I tried to ease on the bed with one of my knees first and the spring snapped and caused me a great deal of pain. AWFUL!!! As if these things didn't convince us to never return. We found several roaches in the condo. I was horrified. If the units are privately owned, they should meet a specific requirement before renting to the public.....this unit cost True Blue Resort all of our future business (we make 5-6 visits to Pawley's each year). Shame is, I know there are great units there.....just can't bank on it. Also note, the room photos on the True Blue website are NOT for your unit. These are for a best case scenario.

Great rate for the amount of space

Posted 07-Oct-2014
Pros: the location was great. The space in the unit was terrific.
Cons: More friendly approach from the receptionist and better instructions. Later check out time would be more realistic for most people.
Location: Great restaurants, shops and art galleries.
The units are very spacious and my unit was nicely decorated. The unit was also clean. The weekend staff were very friendly as was housekeeping. The day time receptionist was unfriendly. The check out time is 10:00 am which I found to be very early. When I asked about a later check out time, I was told in an unfriendly way it depended on the rental status of the unit. My check out was not to interfere with the cleaning of the unit. There is all sorts of information on the paper I got at check in about charges if you don't leave the unit by 10:00 am. The paper however lacked information about the code for the wifi. Since these are privately owned units, the code is on the wifi transmitter. It would have been nice to know that when I signed in. The office closes at 5:00 pm and there is only a number for emergencies after that time.
