Way more than expected. 5 minute walk to the beach. Could see the ocean from our balcony. Room had everything, full kitchen,livingroom, washer dryer ect. 5 stars for sure.

This is the email I sent the property the next day. We had checked out a few hours after checking in, it was that bad. I thought someone would have called or emailed us by now. We haven't heard back from my email or my message here on hotels.com. Good Afternoon, Based on this email I'm going to assume you did not speak with your check in crew. I would like to request a refund. We checked in around 6PM. Got to the room, there was an awful odor in the condo. We opened the doors, and turned on the fan to air out the room.  I took a quick shower, water wouldn't drain. We had a dinner reservation and didn't have time to address. We got back around 9/930. The halls smelled like pee and Marijuana. Even though we tried to air out the room, it still smelled like cheap dollar store powder carpet cleaner - everywhere. The water in the kitchen sink wouldn't drain. The sofa looks like it should have been replaced 5 years ago, we couldn't even sit on it, it was that gross. Everything was dated and in dire need of something. When we went to check out at 930PM (same night), the only thing the staff had to say was "oh no", no offer for a new room or maybe a move to your other facility? They were very nice and not rude, just not super helpful. Thank you for your time and assistance,

Eva, I do apologize for all the issues you had during your brief stay this is not the norm for us. I will find out what unit you checked in to and have the unit thoroughly checked and corrected. I did check with out departments and no one has received an email so that is why you have not gotten a response. I will talk to the front desk team so they can better explain to the guest's different options. Thank you for your feedback

This was my 5th time staying at Horizon, property is starting to be a little worn down, still nice but could use some upgrades like fresh carpet and the furniture has seen better days.

I’ve had better in 3rd world countries...
Honestly one of the worst stays of my entire life from beginning to end. Let me start off by saying the Grand Shotes Hotel and Horizon on 77th are in a messy divorce and neither of them are very helpful. It’s like they don’t want to talk about their situation, leaving the customers totally unhappy and confused. Grand Shores owns this listing. You check in at their hotel but you stay at the one next door. Confusing process which cause check in to take nearly 90 minutes as we encountered rude person after person who didn’t know much. After check in we found our room to 100% not be a ‘resort’. For the additional $45 resort fee - one would expect beach towels (for example). Nope! Now comes some of the issues with the room... You have control of the A/C within reason - when I got there the room was 76 and like a sauna, you can only lower it down to 68 degrees. The coffee pot - broken. The oven - didn’t close Master shower - wouldn’t come out of the shower head. 2nd shower - base of the shower head rusty. Beach chair on patio - looks like it’s seen 8 season. Bed - could feel every spring pressing into my hip bone and ribs. And now for the icing on the cake - a maintenance guy from Bluegreen who wasn’t suppose to enter the room came in to change the air filter - without knocking. Discussed all of this with the night manager - he apologized and gave us a comp’d breakfast. I wouldn’t recommend staying here - ever.

Nice lazy river and hot tub/pool. Quick walk to the beach and nice view. A little small for 5 people (3 young crazy hyper kids) but it worked

The rental unit was in terrible shape.... carpet torn, old sofas, mattress stained, dirty looking carpet....bad first and last impression. EXPEDIA should not get involved with such units. Bad reflection on EXPEDIA.

Central and close to all services. Short walk to the beach. Confusing getting around the buidings. Booked via Horizon but checked in at the Shores. Housekeeping was excellent.

Love the layout. Nice view. Would definitely stay again! :) Lovely kitchen. Housekeeping brought up a baking pan I needed that was not already in the kitchen. Storage drawer in the stove was a bit tricky to close but no big deal. Both toilets kept running and maintenance worked on both but one continued to run. Probably should have called them back again. If that’s the worst thing to happen life is grand!

Hotel was nice, staff not very helpful
Had to check in at the neighbor hotel, the process was time consuming and the staff seemed rather annoyed to provide assistance. It was an unpleasant and confusing check in, hotel was nice, location is great mix of beach and plenty of vegetation. By staff i mean the receptionist on both check in sections.

Good place to family vacation
This is at least the second time we stay here. Two bedrooms with a full kitchen. So it is easy to prepare breakfast and cook some seafood. Very close to the ocean. The warm pool is kind of small, so if the weather is very cold, the choice is limited.

Stay here for the second time in 2 years. Location is very good. The suite is spacious. Kitchen and supplies are very useful. Sofas condition has deteriorated a lot. Bedding can be upgraded. Overall is still satisfactory.

I reserved an ocean front room and I got a ocean view room. The person that came to clean the room just used the key instead of knocking first. That was a downfall for me. I plan to visit again the weekend after Valentines and wish to get the ocean front for an additional discount.

Check in time not very accurate
Knowing that check in time was not until 4PM, we stopped in and browsed around the area we were staying. We arrived at Horizon 77 at 3:55 PM and told our rooms were not yet ready but would be in approx 15 minutes. That would have been ok, but it was 45 more minutes before we got to check in. at the desk we were offered another room, but then found out none were available. Check in time should be accurate, especially if check out has to be. This was the first time we have been there and my wife and I brought our 3 grown children with us. An hour wait to check in after a 4 hour drive to get here is not good for repeat business. All staff appeared to be working very hard, so I have to call it like I see it--Management. Sometimes you just need more good help.GOOD LUCK>

Quiet, spacious and family oriented
Check in was a breeze. Parking was plentiful and we never had a problem finding a spot where we wanted. The 3 bdrm condo was very very spacious and easily fit my husband and I in the king room (with a master bath that had a whirl pool tub and separate access to the balcony), our 2 year old and 1 year old in the queen room (with a free crib for my younger one and their own smaller balcony) and my 12 year old and her friend in the double queen room (which had a seperate entrance to the bathroom). Full kitchen with cookware and utensils, washer and dryer, lots of storage space and seperate living room. It was very homey and livable. We also had unlimited free movie rentals! My kids enjoyed the lazy river and pools and the beach was a 4 minute walk away. Definitely will be staying again!

Make sure you confirm the room before arriving
Got to Horizon to find out the room I booked was not described properly in the add. Arrived to find out the King bed , and the Queen bed rooms that I needed, turned out to be on a King bedroom for 4 people. So we had to pick up and move to their sister hotel and that process took about 4 hours of negotiation, was hung up on by staff personell, etc. The manager was very accomodation once I got to her, but the staff at Horizon on 77th really didn't care what issues I had.
