“I can't wait to go back to this hotel”

I have just returned from Mykonos holidays. I was with 5 other friends, staying in two 3-bed rooms.Rhenia hotel service was great, including the room service (fridge, tv,safe, bathroom comforts). The rooms are quite spacious with their own bathroom and the hotel staff was very friendly, treating us individually to our needs and responding promptly to any of our requests. The breakfast is rich with variety of food. The rooms were clean, cleaned 7 days a week and both rooms' balcony view was stunning since you gaze at the Mykonos town bay, the new port and all the cruiseboats from a panoramic point, where the hotel is at. The hotel environment is beautiful since it comprises bungalows within a campus full of nice plantation and trees and you can always chill out by the swimming pool and the pool bar. The hotel location is at the new port, 25mins on foot from Mykonos town or 5 minutes by car - don't forget, Mykonos is a small island and you can access every location quickly by bus, taxi or car from the hotel location. A bus stop is available at the hotel location with itineraries until 2:00am. I will never forget the mild climate of that location, since you feel every day and night the revitalising fresh sea breeze. This is the second time I have been to this hotel and I would go for a third one. I would definitely recommend Rhenia hotel to anybody.

When to go
Between early May and late September
Getting there
Airplane (by charter aviators directly to Mykonos or via Athens with any aviator) or boat from Athens
Must see
Visit Mykonos town traditional paths. They are the trademark of the town since they are narrow, surrounded by the white painted picturesque shops and houses. It is so easy to get 'lost' in these paths while enjoying all of the picturesque sites and attractions. Visit the windmills by Mykonos town, close to 'Little Venice'. The view is stunning gazing at Mykonos town bay and the new port bay. The windmills are structures of traditional architecture as part of the Cycladic architecture with the white and blue painted houses.
Nightlife
You can visit 'Little Venice' in Mykonos town by night. It's an idyllic location, as you can chill out for drinks to the bars which are literally in front of the sea with a view of Mykonos town picturesque windmills. Go to Super Paradise, this is the ultimate evening party beach bar in the whole of the Mediterranean, forget Ibiza, there is no compare to that place's ambience. Super Paradise is open from 5pm until 00:00. There are Pool Parties at night in Cavo Paradiso Club and Paradise Beach Bar from 11:00pm until late morning hours. All big DJs from all over the world are playing their music in these 2 poolbar clubs, which are located at the area of Paradise Beach bay. Visit Club Tropicana for evening parties as well, which is located in Paradise Beach Bay. There are plenty of bars and cafes in Mykonos town to chill out or to party hard. ('Space', 'Skandinavia Bar', 'Caprice', 'Aigli' Bar, 'Astra' Bar)
Outdoors or beach
Visit Super Paradise beach, Paradise Beach, Psarou, Ornos. All of these locations are ideal for swimming, beach games, beach bar chill out. There are no sea waves even if it is a windy day, since the bay formation prevents such thing. Visit Agios Stefanos, Elia, Agios Sostis, and Kapari for quiet swimming, away from the masses.

“Refreshingly accommodating, family run hotel with a great view”

This hotel is a hidden gem. It is clean, modern and well-kept, but at the same time has the feel of being in a traditional Greek village. Views of the sea are beautiful, as the hotel is situated on the side of a hill. It is run by a family that go out of their way to make sure that each of their guests is comfortable and feels at home. Will definitely return.

“Fantastic”

We ended up here at very short notice as our ferry to Santorini was strike-bound. We arrived on a non-scheduled ferry at 2.30 am but the owner stayed up to welcome us. The room was large and had a large walk-out which we shared with another family. The pool is small but nice and lots of space for sitting and enjoying through the grounds. The breakfast was excellent with home-made jam and cake among other items. This is a family-owned and run hotel and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. At the bottom of a short hill there is a nice taverna and a place to rent scooters or a car. There's also a small beach within a 5-7 minute walk. Overall, we have nothing but good memories. But it has to be said that we liked the fact that the hotel is a little out of town so it is quiet at night. If you are looking for a place to stagger back to after a night of heavy drinking, you should budget for cab fares. On the other hand, if you want to have a base to explore the island and a haven of tranquility with great views when you return, this is the place for you.

“Would go again”

Family oriented friendly hotel. Kind helpful staff. Very clean, great breakfast although we only woke up once on time. One definately needs a car or bike to get around as it is not close to "down town" and taxis can charge anything from 10-20euro. Would definately recommend it 100%! Thanks and greetings from Cyprus

““Class and Care, a beautiful Oasis on an Island Paradise””

We stayed here for 4 days at this magnificent family run hotel overlooking the bay. A quiet Oasis, perfect to lounge and rest after a day in the sun or a night on the town. The staff's level if service is absolutely exceptional and familial, as if an extension of their home and you are truly treated as a guest in it. The rooms were comfortable, clean, modern, and well maintained with panoramic views at no extra charge! On a hill above the new port bus stop and a twenty minute walk to the main town. Good restaurants close by as well, just out the gate. But no worries, as the staff were quite willing to provide transport if you require. We also rented four wheelers to drive to Paradise beach, which was the way to do it and at night we had good access to town. If you do in Mykonos and stay out late, the cab fare is only about 4 Euro return. Highly recommend to the discerning traveler who wishes a hassle free place to relax in comfort and peace while still being within arms reach of the rest that Mykonos offers.

“Mykonos best hotel”

Andreas and Alexandra (owners) and the rest of the hotel personnel offered a service that is superior to the American 4 star hotels. My family reserved 2 rooms during the month of June at Rhenia. The service we received impressed us and we are certainly going back to the same hotel in Mykonos next year. The hotel is located near the new port and that is convenient if one gets the ferry to and from the island. There are busses and taxis that will take you to the main town (15 to 20 minutes walk otherwise). The hotel is at a top of a small hill offering a tremendous view of the bay, the cruise ships and the mountains. There is a steep hill that needs to be walked from the main road to the hotel if you are not using a transportation vehicle (many people rent the 4 wheelers that take you around the island). That is, however, a small discomfort considering the superior and friendly service that you receive at the hotel. I am 65 years old and I considered it an excellent exercise walking up the hill ( 5 minutes walk). Andreas will pick you up (or take you to) from the airport or the port if you notify them in advance. Good value for your money. I strongly recommend it.

Area recommendations
Depending on the age, Paradise beach for the young, or the beach near the Rhenia hotel which is quite and family oriented (10 minutes walk). Go to main town for a drink at the numerous bars, choose a bar by the Venice section (bars by the water). There are a couple of restauarants with decent food near the hotel Rhenia. Food prices at restaurants vary but they are at least 20% higher than the restaurant prices in Athens. Quality of food varies. In general I would say that the quality is lower than the corresponding restaurants in Athens. That is, however, the price for being in a very popular internationally Greek island.

“Very impressed!”

Hotel Rhenia was excellent! We appreciated the proximity to the port and it wasn't too far from town (20 minute walk or 5 minute scooter ride). Owners and staff were VERY friendly and accommodating.

“a lovely place to stay”

Have just returned from a weeks stay at Rhenia, and really enjoyed it. Met all my expectations and matched other reviews I had read on Expedia. Had a lovely room (no 32) with a great view over the pool area and sea beyond, which was clean and well equipped, lovely shower (over bath), good water pressure and temperature. Towels were changes every day : ) Breakfasts were great, lots of choice and plenty available, eggs and bacon, yogurt and honey, fruit, cakes, bread and jam, juices, tea and coffee - realistic breakfast times too, 8.00-10.30. Hotel is situated in Tourlos Bay, out of town, there is a moped hire place at the bottom of the hill, plus a nice Taverna - Matthew. Cruise ships docked every night we were there and passengers were ferried by coach to town - didnt really bother us, and only one ship sounded its horn in the middle of the night! They are building a new marina and port near to the hotel - but we did not notice any noise etc - apparently will make the hotel more desirable as new shops, restaurants etc will pop up (a mini Mykonos). We hired a moped and used it everyday to get into town in the evenings and to the beaches during the day. Hotel was staffed until midnight and had a lovely calm, relaxing and very welcoming feel to it. I would recommend it highly for a stay on Mykonos - the tranquility offered would be a great bonus in high season.

Traveller's tip
Do go to different beaches, as others have said the smaller ones are really worth the trip. There are water taxi's that go between some of them, but we drove by moped - roads in land are much less busy than the town roads. Gorgeous little monastery - Ano Mera - in centre, on way to Southern beaches, worth a stop, nice little square too.

“Scenic view hotel”

This hotel is about 2kms from the town of Mykonos and is a 10 min walk to the beach. The location is not too ideal, but having said that, it is a really super nice hotel. It has an awesome view of the port, it has great staff, the hotel, the rooms super clean, it provides a nice and decent breakfast and overall, it is worth the price. There is a bus stop right aside the hotel and taxis can be easily called by the staff for a ride into town. Though it is about 2kms from the town of Mykonos (and no, one shouldn't walk to town--windy roads with no sidewalk) this hotel is definitely worth it.
