“Small rooms of the world”
There's nothing luxury about this hotel, by any standards. The listing of this property as a Small Luxury Hotel is misleading advertising and disqualifies SHL as a reliable source of tourist information. Good point: location (which, apparently, is not everything). Not so good point: staff although friendly and polite, they have no idea what hotel service means, to the point where they become useless. The bar is a wonderful place, but has zero service. Really bad points: - room size (mere closets, even for the superior sea-view) - cleanliness (non-English speaking maids, they will ignore do-not-disturb signs or will forget to clean the rooms). One more thing - you're supposed to know that hanging the blue ribbon that they provide in the rooms outside your door means "do not disturb" - nice touch, if they took the trouble of letting you know what it means. - towels (dirty, overused - some even torn) All in all, BAD.
“Porto Mykonos hotel”
Not a bad thing to say -- had to add an extra night because could not get to Santorini after flight arrived in Athens(Aegean Airlines on strike). Hotel very accomodating. After 5 hour ferry ride from Rafina(charming little port town with great seafood), greeted by Porto Mykonos staffer who could not have been nicer. Even though the kitchen was closed, brought two sandwiches to the room and didn't charge me!!!. Room was perfect -- little balcony to watch all the action(was not on the town side of the hotel -- but what will become the marina -- some construction going on, but not all that distracting)... in a nutshell, worth every penny(or devalued euro). will definitely go back.... rick
“Porto Mykonos - great location, great service”
This was a wonderful find. Elenie, the proprietor was the epitomy of hositality. We were greated with a glasses of champagne while our bags were taken to our room. Everything thing from the inclusive breakfast and the excellent swimming pool made this a welcome beginning to our trip on the islands. Couple of criticisms - we stayed in one of the King/Doubles with balcony (with a view of the old port). The room was small but clean. The bathroom was a bit scarey. The shower, while powerful, usually ended up flooding the entire floor!
“Have been twice; would definitely stay here again”
Wonderful location right up the hill from the Old Port landing. Great views of Mykonos and windmills though there is a construction site being worked on at this time for an expanded harbor. Two-level pool is wonderful. Order the Greek salad for lunch; it's large enough for 2 people. Buffet breakfast is very good; definitely a plus. Staff are very helpful. Rooms are very comfortable each with nice patios for great sunset viewing. Free internet in lobby is a plus. We've stayed here twice by booking thru Expedia. It's a great find at a reasonable price within very easy walking distance of the main shopping and dining areas of Mykonos town. Good rental car dealer down the hill from the hotel. A definite plus.
“Liked it”
quiet resort hotel in midst of busy town. a real oasis. would definitely go back
