Upon check-in, we were told by an older gentleman with white hair at the front desk that he couldn’t find our reservation, even though I’d booked and pre-paid for the hotel over 7 months in advance through Expedia. I showed him the confirmation from Expedia that states, “Your reservation is confirmed. No need to call to reconfirm.” He said that we don’t exist in their system & that he’d need to contact Expedia. We waited in the seating area while he called Expedia. Several other guests arrived while we were waiting. Each time, their check-in process took only a minute or two. We could hear him telling Expedia that the only room he had available was a deluxe room. He stated that our reservation was for a standard room. He asked the Expedia representative, “Who is going to pay the difference in price?” He ended his call with Expedia & continued to assist other guest & shuffle through papers. In total,we waited for 30-minutes until he had an “aha” moment. Literally. He said, “Aha.” Then, he called us over to the front desk. He said that he found our reservation. According to him, the reservation had been made through a company named “Hotel Rooms.” I told him that I made the reservation through Expedia. He asked me if I was sure (even after he spoke to Expedia about my reservation). I explained that I was positive—I haven’t even heard of a company named “Hotel Rooms.” We finally got our room which was fine. The bed was very uncomfortable and the coffee at breakfast was awful!
