“One of the best in Mykonos!”

I passed over the Santa Marina resort to stay at Deliades as it was more affordable. We were dreading that it may not be as great as the regular brand hotels (Starwood, marriott etc.). This hotel is not only very nicely situated, it has the true greek island vibe which may get lost with the more commercial brands. Some of the highlights that i can list out here: - Great staff, made us welcome and feel right at home. - Beautiful view of the Ornos beach - Excellent rooms with all the amenities u need - helpful and down to earth staff ready to help and guide u - Great location, the mykonos island bus stops by only a short walk away - We had free breakfast in the rate and it was great. - Rooms, the hotel, and just everything about the hotel was perfect for us - and did i mention the staff was great? highly recommended.

Area recommendations
Mykonos town ornos beach platys gialos little venice and windmills. great place for the sunset!
Getting there
we used the cheaper ferries to get there from athens. In hindsight, taking one of the flying cats would have been better; its double the cost but saves u a couple of precious hours which u can spend in Mykonos. Service is of course better too. There is a island wide bus system. Once u get off the Ferry, u can wait for the bus to take u to the part of town u need to go but the wait is quite long. A taxi can take u to wherever u need to go for 15 euros.
Dining
While everyone recommends NIKO's as the place to try at Mykonos, this place is horrible. Since it is crowded, the service u get is pathetic, takes 15-20 mins to get ur order taken and another 40 mins for food. We could have spent the time and money at a much better place instead. There is an italian restaurant in the mykonos town which looked great. Didn;t get to try because we wasted our time at NIKO's.
Events and shows
The excursion to Delos is highly recommended.

“Deliades Ornos : détente, calme & discrétion”

du 28 09 au 05 10 2010 personnel jeune, discret, sympathique et serviable, répondant à toutes les demandes. nous avions envoyé un mail à l'hotel après réservation : cette prise de contact nous a permis d'avoir la chambre que nous espérions et même plus : une suite pour le prix d'une standard. Terrasse avec vue sur la mer, 2 salles de bains (!), grand salon + transfert hotel-aéroport : évitez donc de payer ce service gratuit. piscine à côté du bar, terrasse du resto... pas très discret et agréable pour ceux qui mangent et donc personne ne l'utilise. jacuzi (pas très chaud) et chaises longues sur une terrasse plus haute... la plage est à 500m, le bus pour mikonos /taxi /taxi boat pour d'autres plages /resto /bars /minimarkets aussi. pas essayé le resto de l'hotel buffet ptit dèj
