“Muscat's Best Hotel”
The Chedi Muscat is clearly the best luxury hotel in Muscat because its only rival, the Shangri La, is 45 minutes from central Muscat in the best of traffic and, given common traffic congestion, an even longer journey is usually required. Athough conveniently located in Muscat, The Chedi's grounds are large and private. The Chedi meets the highest international resort standards in all respects. Its two most distinctive features are, first, the beautiful, sophisticated, understated design of its buildings and magnificent landscaping and, second and even rarer, a staff that exceeds the highest international standards of service and that truly seems to love their jobs and their customers. Oman's countryside is filled with oases---small treasures of surprise, lushness, beauty and rejuvenation---and The Chedi is Muscat's own, unique oasis. I have just completed a second visit to the hotel and was expecting the normal "letdown" after a superb first visit. But instead, my second experience was equally exceptional. The Chedi truly delivers and truly spoils you for the many other hotels that claim international excellence. Pricey, for sure, but The Chedi delivers.
“Never to return”
The Spa facilities and service are outstanding, the outside areas are very stylishly landscaped, the pool staff is attentive but from there it only got worse. At checkin the concierge staff let me sit around for 40 mins. until I caught the attention of a very apologetic reception staff myself. The room was functional and clean but extremely cold or warm. The kitchen exhaust fumes came through the door and food was either barely eadible (old, greasy, overly spicy) or simply unimaginative for the extraordinary high prices. The breakfast service staff was reluctant to attend to outdoors seating and actually told me to go ahead and help myself. This is one hotel I will not return to stay and feel completed overcharged.
“Heavenly hideaway in Muscat.”
The only mildly negative thing I can think of about the Chedi is that the air conditioning in the room is quite noisy, and if that's all you can find to pick fault with then you know you've stayed somewhere pretty fabulous.
“Catered to relaxation”
The whole resort is catered to relaxation. The two pools are serene and beautiful, the grounds were sprawling and well manicured, the spa is lovely, the food is quite good. The beach was fine but not the highlight of the resort. Its perfect for a getaway.
“Muscat's best kept secret”
Tucked away, this is Muscat's best kept secret.
“Thoroughly enjoyable”
I enjoyed the beach and the pool tremendously .. I even lost a pendant in the evening but it was given back to me next morning. Did not use the Restaurant but breakfast was gorgeous. Sending gueata fruits for the day is an excellent idea. Will come back.
“Fantastic hotel”
My husband & I had a fantastic stay at The Chedi. As this was our "babymoon" we wanted nothing but to completely relax. Fortunately for us, we were able to do this in abundance, and sample great food, sunbathe, read and totally rejunivate. The food is great quality however after a week, we had sampled most of the food! They are opening a new Asian restaurant which will be very welcome. The staff were very friendly and professional. The pools were great and there were plenty of loungers to not feel crowded at all. The spa was wonderful and they were able to offer some pregnancy treatments. Our only issues were the "high speed WiFi" which was practically non-existent, and the reading lights which are on the ceiling and you are unable to switch off just one, so would recommend eye patches for the one who wants to sleep first. Aside from those two issues, an absolutely perfect holiday.
“Wonderful luxury.”
Loved our stay at the Chedi.
“Weekend Break in Muscat, Oman”
A fantastic hotel. The stuffs were very helpful & knowledgeable. A great weekend break. Food was also lovely. The only drawback we faced are the reading lights in the bedroom, it needs some serious attention. Number one, both the lights should not be operated by a single switch. Number two, the lights are too bright & angled incorrectly (directly hits your eyes) to serve as reading lights.
“Best Hotel in Muscat”
The best hotel I have ever been.
