This a small and very personable hotel and not at all expensive. It is very close to the water and had lovely views. It was also close to shops, one of them being Muscat's Handcraft Centre which was great value. But the best thing about the hotel besides it being clean and comfortable was the friendliness of the staff. They were lovely especially the helpfulness of the manager.
This hotel is nestled in the mountains, very secluded from the hustle and bustle of Muscat city (the nearest ATM is 30 minutes away). If you're willing to leave behind the rest of civilisation and experience a wonderful retreat, then this hotel is for you. There are top-class amenities, including watersports like jet skiing and scuba diving, a spa (unfortunately we didn't get the chance to try this out), a fabulous swimming pool and a private beach. Our room was spacious and luxurious, and we ate
our fill each morning with the delicious buffet breakfast, serving everything from French toast and a traditional fry-up, to cooked-to-order pancakes and omelettes.
The hotel staff at reception were so helpful at maximising our time in Oman. Each day, they suggested and organised activities for us. Special thanks to Thomas from the on-site diving centre, who guided us through the unforgettable Wadi Shab, providing fascinating facts about the region as we drove through the country.
Overall, the Sifawy Boutique Hotel was instrumental in providing us with outstandingly positive memories of our trip to Oman.
Don't miss out on this little slice of paradise!

This hotel provided 2 attached rooms for my wife and me and our 2 teenage daughters. This was an ideal situation. The rooms were nice and clean. We had a leak in a bathroom pipe and they fixed it promptly. The location is in an industrial area that is not very attractive, but once inside, you forget about it. The breakfast and dinner buffets were good quality. We used the hotel as a base camp for venturing to the nearby wadis and beaches, and to see the sea turtles. It is an ideal central location, about 2 to 3 hours from Muscat airport. We stayed for 3 days and will use this hotel again if we go back to the area.

The title of my review says it all. Quite unexpected in Oman. My only gripe is that reservation management refused my request, through Expedia and on site, to cancel three days of the four-day reservation I had made in order to sort out what we would do after the shocking cancellation of our cruise to India and beyond. Turns out we were able to book an alternate cruise leaving the next day on a British cruise ship. Despite all entreaties, the resort would not provide a refund for the three unused days.
Well the complimentary internet is pretty important selling feature and it is not unusual for a hotel to be unaware that someone has checked that box on the hotel add in Expedia. However these guys were adamant that there would be no complimentary internet, when I asked to see the manager they rolled over and gave me two free hours to placate me. That was the complimentary part!
The hotel is run by Indians next to a construction site. Open the bedroom window in the morning and you have a bunch of guys sitting 10 feet away having breakfast and the rest of the morning is pipes being dropped and hammering etc.
The staff were friendly and helpful and made up for a lot for the short comings, complimentary buffet breakfast was pretty weak. No other foreigners mostly locals. Good for an overnight stay perhaps. You get what you pay for. Other hotels can be three time as much.
