“Well worth the money!”
This is generally a hotel for business men but we found it very friendly and very comfortable. There are plenty of bars and restuarants to use at the hotel, although the drinks are quite expensive. Taxis are available 24/7 just outside the door but it would be much better to have your own car. The hotel was clean and tidy all the time and there are plenty of staff around to help you with anything. Views from the hotel windows aren't brilliant but it is only a very short walk to the beach road where views are great. The Rock Bottom night club can get very busy at night but we were not disturbed by it at all. Apararently they serve a very good steak in there but we didn't have time to try it. It was all of it's 3 stars and more. Don't expect the Al Bustan and you won't be disappointed.
“Sufficient”
This is a decent hotel in the middle of Muscat. Its not a $300 fancy hotel. But it is fine. People at the front desk were great. Breakfast was really good - some Indian food, fruit, meat. Didn't care for the Indian restuarant at dinner. Hotel taxi is expensive. Walk down the street to the bigger street and hail a taxi -- cheaper. Lots of construction around the hotel. Woke me up at 7 am.
“Near the beach but far from old Muscat”
The hotel is in Qurum which although in the general Muscat area and on the coast is 15 min expensive taxi ride from old Muscat (with the harbour, corniche etc). If you want to swim in the ocean it's OK (hotel pool closed and not very appealing when I was there in February) but if you want to savour the delights of old Muscat, stay in the more local hotels on the corniche - at least that's my plan for next time. If you want to drink alcohol, however, this hotel is a good bet having excellent bar with live band and draught Kilkenny. The front-desk manager was very helpful in finding a driver and car to take me on a tour of the Oman interior.
“Ramee: unimpressive”
Ramee Guestline is the type of nondescript hotel that you would keep no fond memories of. It has the bare necessities in terms of what a hotel can have. The internet is as bad as internet connections come and they charge for it. Breakfast is probably one of the few acceptable things in the hotel, apart from that, the restaurants are average, and you would not go there unless you had no other choice. Rock bottom the pub is a bit better it terms of the choice of pubs available in Oman i think it makes it in the top five. Overall the Ramee is not bad, but i would not go there as my first choice.
