These quaint cabins are spectacularly clean with modern quality appliances. A perfect nights sleep in a secluded but convenient location. Try the The Cow Shed Restaurant! Never thought to find that good a dining experience in a little town like that.

No toiletries provided in the bathroom. No air conditioning. One reading light did not work. A bit of a problem with payment being taken out of our account twice which, by pure good luck, we found. Manager very friendly though. A bit overpriced for what it was. Average hotel, just ok.

This was a quaint place to stay, room was a tad small but all good, minutes to drive to main shops and we loved feeding the eels and the lovely japanese garden type area, the owners should advertise these with photos would be a big pull for them, would recommend this motel

Loved the location. Wonderful views and lots of interesting places to look at in Murchison. There was a Hang Gliding Regatta going on there during our short stay and we met some neat people while staying at the Motel.

We had to wash dishes in a small hand basin. There was only a shower curtain. Only two overhead lights. One in the living area and 1 in the bathroom. We had a wardrobe door key to our room which shows its age. This room was definitely not value for money. The heater was on which was a plus but why not turn the fridge on. Very disappointed with this accommodation

Room was small with no wardrobe or hanging space. Basic amenities in bathroom with tiny basin and no shelving. Shower was excellent. Kitchen supplies/utensils were meagre.

The motel room and surroundings were very nice. But my encounter with a staff member was confronting and judgemental. Telling me I shouldn't book accommodation online. That I'm spending money that isn't going to NZ. And that I was supposed to pay for our accommodation a week earlier (I was not told this). I told the staff member this and he said "well they wouldn't would they". I thought afterwards that the Motel had my name, address, and phone number that they could've contacted me to arrange pre-payment for the room. I would recommend Murchison for a night but not this Motel.

Super clean and new feeling motel. Only thing is, bring your own toiletries. All they provide are towels and a thin bar of soap.

It is the worst motel we have been in the last 10 days. Why ?, Because the room was tiny, there was no place to pack, the "kitchen" of laughter, there was no sink, and the bathroom had the sink level to wash a child's face, needless to say anything plus !!!

Great Stay in Murchison.
We were passing through, the check in was fast and efficient. The motel owner had turned on the heater in the room (we arrived in the evening) and was most helpful and friendly. Check out the next day was the same. The unit was clean and tidy. This was a great place to stay.

Good Value Rest Stop
Just a one night stop over. Late check in organized by phone. Great cheery service and accurate directions. Found everything as promised. No hassles or surprises. Windscreen wash brush and bucket of water in the car park a great touch. Lots of bugs around at night!!

Expensive, Outdated and Depressing
Pros: None Cons: Booking said 2 Twin beds, ended up with 1 twin and a single. The room was too small to move around in. No iron or ironing board provided. The Wifi did not work. I found hair on the bed under my pillow! The shower and toilet were too small, and to use the sink and mirror you needed to be very short or a child. The motel is straight from the 1970's with no improvements. We have stayed in 8 Motels in NZ so far, and this was by far the worst, and one of the most expensive.

The room and bathroom was clean and tidy, water was of consistent pressure (which was a lovely surprise after some bad experiences) and the bed was very comfortable. Overall good experience.
