“All good but Internet Access”
Location next to the main railway and subway station - great for down-town walks and travels. No noise or disturbance. Hotel is somewhat old however seems to be well maintained. Rooms are clean. Pool and sauna worked. Overall good value for money. If you do not have breakfast included be aware that hotel breakfast costs some noticeable money. In the downsides I'd list: - Internet access is insanely expensive: hotel has its own wired Internet which is charged hourly or daily at rates I could imagine being actual back in the dial-up era. Wireless Internet is available from a hot-spot of T-Mobile with some more flexibility in rates however still at quite high rates. This was definitely something annoying and probably very annoying. - Floor in the bathroom was quite cold. Bathroom missed heating. - Room cleaning was good however at one occasion we happened to be in the room when the cleaning lady tried to enter it. I cannot say that she was perfectly polite, but not that she was really rude.
“Good hotel”
I was here for 4 nights in late October and had no complaints. Nothing spectacular about the hotel but also nothing wrong. Would definitely go back.
“Good value next to the City's transport hub”
This is a good quality hotel very near the Hauptbahnhof. The easiest way to find it is to make your way to the main concourse of the main-line station; and, as you face the entrance to the tracks, go left and straight on, into the open air, over the main street and straight into Goethestrasse. The hotel is set back from the street, only 200 metres or so on the left, after leaving the Hauptbahnhof. You go through a driveway under the building on the street. Once in the hotel, you are virtually insulated from street noise, especially if you ask for a quiet room. Everything seemed to operate well. The connector for the internet was broken when I arrived; but it was mended within the day, while I was out. Breakfast is very over-priced, as in most German hotels. Maybe the Maritim could learn a lesson from the Sheraton and offer a 5 or 6 Euro take-away breakfast option.
“will come back”
Thank you
“munchen hotel”
toooo expensive for a second class hotel
“Munich Oktoberfest”
Nice, hotel, great staff, reasonable swimming pool usually empty, location good for the train station and only 15 minute walk into the centre.
“Oktoberfest 2011”
Stayed here for Oktoberfest, it was a 10 minute walk to the Thersienweisen and a 3 minute walk to the train station, very convenient. The room was clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Hotel staff was very friendly and everyone spoke English, they held my bags since I had a later flight.
“Lovely German hotel with great hospitality”
We booked to stay at the Maritim while a group of us visited Oktoberfest. While young, beery Brits probably aren't the Maritim's preferred guests, they made us feel very welcome. The location, despite a nearby sex shop and casino, is convenient for town and for Oktoberfest, and the rooms are large, comfortable, spotlessly clean and well appointed. Breakfast, at 20 Euros, is pricey, but a great spread including beer and sparkling wine (we couldn't face any hair of the dog, but always good to have the option!). Highly recommended!
“Very Bad Location”
After visiting many hotels though out Europe this hotel had the worst location and no free WI-FI. Even the tiny out of the way hotels in Greece and Italy that we stayed in had free WI-FI. Beware the dodgy characters hanging around the neighbouring streets. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Very very convenient location next to Munich railway station”
Incredibly convenient location next to railway station, superb if you are travelling,or need to get out of Munich early in the morning. Downside is area aroundabout is a little bit seedy, as these areas usually are in big German cities. Hotel is fine. Good elevators, decent rooms, good for business travellers or people on vacation.
