“Best small hotel”
We have returned to this hotel on three occasions because we really enjoy the atmosphere. It is calm, understated and intimate, with staff being particularly attentive and welcoming. It is also in an excellent position being near the main station and Christmas markets. Breakfast is particularly good and note is taken of dietary needs. No doubt we will return for another visit... and another...
“No complaints!”
Have stayed here numerous times - staff are very friendly & helpful.
“Wonderful stay!”
Clerks at front desk were very helpful. Spoke good English. Rooms were very clean. Excellent German restaurant across from hotel.
“Great Hotel!!”
We love this hotel! This was our third trip to Munich and third trip to this hotel! Convenient location from the Central Train Station in Munich and a short walk (or jump on the U or S Bahn) to the city center. Great staff and great rooms. Breakfast is kind of pricey for what you get… but that our opinion. I would stay there again!
“Good place for a short stay on a budget”
This hotel was chosen as I reviewed Expedia's website and for it's location. It's very close to the train station, which helped for arriving and departing to the airport. The hotel is very small, which is the norm in Europe. Basic room with 2 twin beds and a bathroom the size of an airplane bathroom plus tiny shower. It was clean, but quite a dark atmosphere. Don't bother with overpriced breakfast, there are plenty of places to grab a croissant close by, and if you are stuck, there are tons of places to eat in the train station. Only dealt with the front reception staff, but they were friendly. Didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were there to see the sights. You can walk from the train station to this hotel, it's only about 5 minutes, unless it's raining, don't waste 5-7 euro on a taxi.
“Excellent location, great service”
The hotel is literally a two minute walk from the main train station, from where all public transportation options are available. Despite its central location, the hotel was very quiet, since our room faced a courtyard shared by apartment buildings and the hotel. The service at the front desk is excellent. I asked for a converter so I could charge my laptop, and they just gave me one. At one point the bar was closed, but they took care of us anyway. On our last evening there, they left the atrium open an extra hour so we could sit outside. The breakfast buffet is very good and open until 10:30, which helps.
“Immaculate”
Having stayed at the sister hotel just up the street, we decided to stay at the three-star King's City Center Hotel on this occasion and were satisfied in every way. Although the room lacked a coffee maker and minibar, it was otherwise as comfortable as the more expensive King's First Class Hotel and even a bit closer to the train station and city center. Of the six Munich hotels we have used in recent years, this was the best accommodation for the price, so we plan to return.
“Cosy hotel - read small rooms”
Very small rooms, but this is barely worthy of a complaint. The hotel was warm and welcoming and the rooms very cosy and comfortable. However I wouldn't be wanting to stay longer than 3 nights, as living out of a suitcase would be practically impossible. The hotel is situated very close to the main Munich station so the metro was easily accessible (maybe 2 minute walk at the most). The neighborhood felt a bit nightlifish (new word). The casino was around the corner and a couple of "mens" clubs on the next street. We did have 1 confrontation with a completely drunk German who decided to hurl a beer bottle at a bin right next to me and proceed to yell his support for Hitler in my face. This is not the hotel's fault and I suppose I was just the unlucky one to to be in the vicinity of some clown with no idea. I would have no problem recommending this hotel.
“Fairy tale old world charm, great location, at a reasonable price, but smoky”
This hotel is very conveniently located. The furnishings, staff uniforms and decor are fun, full of old-world charm, romantic. However, my non-smoking room stank of cigarette smoke. I think that to render it non-smoking they simply removed the ash trays. My kids even complained when I got home that my suitcase stank of cigarettes.
“Would definately recommend this hotel. It is perfectly located and the room is charming.”
Centrally located, comfortable and CLEAN!
