“just next to the terminal for quick check in”
5/5
“Very convenient for Munich Airport”
We came from another city on the evening before a morning flight out of Munich airport; the Kempinski was extremely convenient for this circumstance. The beds were not particularly comfortable (much too hard for my taste), but everything else -- especially the quiet -- was fine. Breakfast (we bought a package) was quite reasonable. While I rated the surrounding neighborhood, there really IS no surrounding neighborhood, which was exactly the point.
“Joseph Gathe”
Best airport hotel I have ever stayed at.
“Not a five star; do not choose twin beds”
Convenient location but room was far below expectation. I shared a twin room with my son but found the beds were a complete joke. They were a pull down from the wall type. Very poor quality and only 2'6" wide. Really only suitable for small children. The matress was hard and thin similar to a folding bed and there was a 30cm gap from the headboard to the bed due to pull down mechanism. Cheap thin towels finished the experience. Stay here for convenience but do not expect luxury and avoid twin beds like the plague!
“Regular visitor - an upgrade would have been nice”
I stay here many times (it is at the airport so vey handy) and am a member of the company's loyalty scheme. Sometimes I get an upgrade but this time didn't - wouldn't have thought it busy on a Saturday night. Not that I have an God-given right but you'd have thought they'd have checked their records, seen the loyalty card bit? Staying there again tomorrow - wil be curious to see what happens.
“a little surprised with the 5/5 ratings others gave”
Given the 5/5 ratings this hotel got, I was a little surprised by what I found when I checked in at 1 am. Hotel room bathroom was dirty, hair and dirt on floor (we were told they had "upgraded us" to a suite for free, we had no choice in the matter). If the lower grade rooms are cleaner, I would have preferred not being upgraded. As I require frequent internet access with my business, one of the reasons I chose this hotel was assurance of adequate wifi/wlan internet. Although the wifi in the hotel overall was functioning, the codes that the front desk gave me would not allow me access to their system. This necessitated a phone call at 2 am to the front desk. I was initially told I was doing something wrong, it was my fault. Then when it became clear to the front desk person that I was right and they were actually wrong, instead of just giving me a different code (codes are different for every room), they told me they could call in a technician (from home?) "to help me fix my computer's problem". Seriously? I politely declined as enough of my time had already been wasted and I did, indeed, need some sort of sleep before my 8 am flight (had I not wanted to any sleep I could have sat in a chair all night in the airport, saved several hundred dollars and I would have had internet access). Clearly everyone else who rated this place loved it, but I won't take the risk of staying there again as I require a more honest level of service.
“traveller lady”
excellent hotel, but luxury price rate.
“Very good anda very conveniet”
excelent hotel at the airport, very good restaurant
“Internet slow & service unhelpful”
When we came to check in, there was only one person in reception and she was working with a problem. Other hotel workers came and went but we were made to wait 10 minutes before anyone asked to help us. Kind of ridiculous given we were tired and needed to sit down. We also felt like the Kempenski was looking for every possible way to charge us that they could. Shockingly, they charged for internet Wi-Fi service and then it either didn't work or was so slow we gave up. We even went to the reception desk and they shrugged and said they couldn't help us. We then paid over $100 us dollars for 2 cheeseburgers and a couple of drinks. Ridiculous.
“Fantastic Airport Location”
We had a 7:10 a.m. flight, and the hotel's location immediately next to the airport enabled us to get an extra bit of sleep. No complaints except that free internet would have been nice! The room was quiet, spacious and clean, and we were able to order free coffee or tea to be delivered to our room after our wake up call. It is near car rental desks as well as the S Bahn into Munich. We'd happily stay there again.
