“lovely except for smell of cigar smoke in lobby.”
Very welcoming staff. Room very comfortable but was quite small I thought for 5 star. VIew was poor looking on to an inner courtyard roof. however it was lovely to walk into that beautiful lobby spoiled onlty by the strong smell of tobacco smoke.
“Excellent location to Central Munich”
Hotel staff were excellent. Bar tender was very personable. Great destination for English only speakers. The Germans have amazing command of the English language and, unlike the French, don't mind talking to you in English. Very friendly city, expensive, fabulous food. I will definitely return.
“Kempinski”
Very Good hotel, good service.
“Best place to stay in Munich!”
I love this hotel. It is in the perfect location to enjoy Munich! It is within walking distance to fantastic shopping and wonderful restaurants. It is totally worth the cost!
“No temp control in room”
The hotel and location was excellent. The lobby and associated restaurants were excellent. It has a cigar bar if you have the interest. My only concern was the inability to control the temperature in the room. Maintenance tried to fix this with no luck. I simply left the window open all night. Otherwise no regrets.
“Smoke in the lobby detracts from otherwise perfect stay.”
We loved everything about the hotel except for one important thing. In the evening the beautiful lobby had a strong odor of smoke, and we could not use it. We would try to hold our breath and cross the lobby in a hurry, but my s/o still ended up coughing from the smoke.
“Highly recommend this hotel!”
Very positive experience staying a this hotel. Service from the hotel staff was excellent. Were treated with warmth and very helpful and efficient. Staying here was a taste of luxury in an amazing city. Thankyou Special thanks to the concierge who helped us confirm our flight and print our boarding passes for us.
“World class professionalism, excellent location”
Stayed here seven nights with 14- and 13-year old family members. The hotel is well located in an elegant high-end shopping and office area, within reasonable walking distance of the Marienplatz, Viktualienmart, Hofbrauhaus and Residenz. (Low-end shopping, such as a convenience store, was harder to find nearby.) The lobby, restaurant, bar and pool area of the hotel were all beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained. Our rooms were smallish but well-appointed, with the minor disadvantage of overlooking an inner courtyard. All personnel - particularly at the concierge desk - were conscientious, energetic, friendly and eager to help. Everyone, from the housekeeping staff on up, appeared to be fluent in English - perhaps not surprising, but most helpful and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was very expensive but outstanding, worth splurging on. Would gladly stay here again.
“A classic...”
Great location in the middle of everything. Rooms could be anywhere else in the world. Very unpersonal!
“Excellent location”
This hotel was very impressive on arrival - it had a fabulous lobby area where you could sit and have drinks with a lovely atmosphere - our room was lovely - very comfortable and staff were all very helpful - the bar area was also good with entertainment/piano playing every evening after 9pm. Our only complaint was that for 2 days during our stay our room was not serviced and we had to ask for this to be done after having been out all day - the reception staff were very apologetic and this was done immediately - even though this was not something you would expect from a hotel of this standard we would still recommend it as it was a great location
