“Good location but not great neighborhood”
Very nice hotel in a somewhat seedy neighborhood but good location to main train station and city central. Room was large, had a pullout couch in a standard room. Room was clean, though no AC. Hotel staff was courteous, though if you need extra pillows and towels ask before 5pm b/c housekeeping locks them up after that! The neighborhood was a bit seedy, though I never felt unsafe. Just lots of "adult" themed attractions. A block away from main train station which was perfect and pretty close to town square. Would not recommend paying for the breakfast, very sparse and a bit expensive. Otherwise, great value for Munich hotel!
“Good location”
The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. Very close to train station and city center.
“Good price for such a central location”
This hotel has a great location very close to the main station. There are a couple of strip-joint-type places in the street (Goethestraße) but it still feels very safe. Mainly ethnic neighbourhood. Rooms are very clean and very well-priced for the city centre. It's worth paying the extra few euros to upgrade from a Basic to Komfort room - you get more space and a brighter bathroom.
“great location nr central station, good for the money”
This hotel is sooo close to haubtbahnhof so it makes arriving easy. The staff were polite and helpful and we were allowed to leave our luggage in the lobby on the day of check out and to check in early on our arrival. its about a 5-10min walk to Karlz Platz and Marian Platz, so a good base for exploring. the bedding was clean and comfortable and the towels were changed daily. the room was small, and the furniture/carpet a little worn (i guess we were in the non refurbished bit) but thats being picky really for the price paid. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning to be out exploring/out in the evenings and just need somewhere to shower/sleep.
“Great Bargain”
Easy walk from the train station. We paid extra for the breakfast which turned out to be wonderful. We would reccomend this to anyone looking for a budget Hotel in Munich.
“see you next year !”
the hotel is in the middle of being refit eg new lift rooms getting a facelift staff kept saying sorry but room nice and clean staff showed were to go for the markets etc the breakfast was nice rooom nice and light got a bit full but breakfast served until 10:30 room had just a shower but nice we will we back next year 2011
“Dated but clean rooms”
Great location for Hauptbahnof and central Munich. Room was dated but clean. Quiet at night. Dodgy lift, but improvement works were taking place. Neighbouring sex video shops but no issues. Nice hotel for a city break when you're out all day and evening and you only really use the room to sleep.
“Functional and close”
This is more of a budget hotel with limited amenities. It was one block from the train station and walking distance from the fairgrounds. The room is small by American expectations, but serves its purpose as a place to sleep. The staff is helpful in providing directions to the main centers of interest for tourists. I would stay there again. This is a perfect place for the budget traveler for Oktoberfest.
“Oktoberfest”
Booked this hotel ~3 months in advance for Oktoberfest. It was pretty much the last hotel available. It was perfectly adequate. Room contained a bed and a small desk if I remember correctly. Bathroom was very small. Staff was very friendly. I would recommend this place to someone looking for simple accommodations in Munich near the main train station.
“Good hotel, good location”
Hotel was situated about 17 miles from airport. Its is near the main rail and metro station in Munich. This made it convenient to get about. It was also a good 10 mins walk away from Marianplatz, the main shopping area. Arrived late evening, had a quick check-in and got a free room upgrade. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a little disapointing, it was priced at just under 10 Euros per person which was bit steep as there wasnt much varitey. We decided to get breakfast out for the remainder of our stay and got a decent breakfast from the food stalls in the station. Plenty of choice there and wouldnt cost more than 5 Euros. Overall would recommend hotel and would choose to stay at the Dolomit again!
