Not the best stay I have ever had. I have stayed here before and each time it is getting worse and less pleasant. Too many hotel rules, No wifi in public areas. Asked if I could keep something in their freezer overnight and I was told NO. it was only something small over night for about 7 hours before my morning flight.

Pros: pool area a nice place to relax which opens up on to juhu beach. Breakfast was good as were the restaurants Most of the staff were friendly
Cons: The room itself, peeling walls not good or black mould in bath areas. Making areas private for functions
Location: near beach, but to get into town will need to get rickshaw
Having stayed at the 3 star Archana hotel in mulund where the service, room and staff were excellent I was overall disappointed with the sun and sands. The room was good but for a hotel of this quality you don't expect paint peeling of walls. The shower room though overall good had areas of black mould in certain areas. This may sound picky but if you are spending more than £150 pound a night you don't expect this. Breakfast was excellent as were the staff. Hotel restaurants were good and offered a good range. My biggest bug bear and annoyance was the fact on a Friday night the hotel had a private function in the pool area at the back. This meant closing off half the back for this function which I did not think was fair on other paying guest. I don't care to listen to music from there function and the noise it makes. As my title says I expected more from sun and sands and I did not get it, I was just not impressed especially after the amazing service I got from a three star hotel in town

Stay was comfortable. Reception area cries out for renovation.One of the oldest luxury hotels in Mumbai with a lot of history, but now sadly behind times.

BEWARE, weekend functions spoil the outside spaces

Nice hotel but BE WARNED ! They host weddings, we were told most weekends, and this makes the outside spaces unusable. The noise meant we had to go to the hotel next door for a sunset drink, and eating outside on both the nights we were there was impossible so we had to go elsewhere. They should make customers aware of such functions allowing them the choice of going elsewhere.

Old hotel , has been renovated . It is noisy in the morning . You hear many noises in the morning from your nieghbors . Needs insulation in my opinion . The room was smelly so they changed it for me . Food is good . Breakfast is great . Room service is good. One slow elevator ! . Fast wifi but they charge u 250 rupee in 24 hours .

Location: Lovely beach location !
Having stayed at this hotel for a number of years we have found no other hotel surpasses this in terms of personalised service and hospitality . When I read the negative reviews I actually wonder if its the same place . All hotels have issues ; if you have one bring it to their attention . Mr Arora is a very inter-active VC/GM and accords his personal attention to any concern . How many hotels can claim that ? Location is the best ; and the food is also good . Here you are never one of a crowd . This is why we changed from THE TAJ to this many years ago . For us even the imperfections are perfect !

Good food but poor service at Aqua resturant. Bed mattresses very uncomfortable, and thin. Room walls damaged.Beachcomber Bar good service.kabob Hut had good food snd service.

Great transition place

Pros: Not far from the airport. On the Arabian Sea. It's fun to watch the locals exercising on the beach first thing in the morning. Clean, comfortable.
This is a great hotel to make the transition either into or out of India. Food is reliably good and the rooms are very nice. Staff are very kind and accommodating to Western guests. We hope to return again next year
