We stayed at the Imbali Lodge in Kruger National Park for three nights. It was truly the experience of a lifetime. The accommodations were luxurious and private. The two daily game drives were thrilling; the ranger Mr. Twice was experienced, knowledgeable and had an uncanny ability to spot the various animals that live free in the park. He was very understanding and helped us to spot the big 5 with close-ups videos of lions and the leopard.. The service was terrific and the food was good. If you are going to Kruger this is the place you should go for your safari.
Family holiday with kids and parents, wanting a bit of comfort when compared with the accommodation options at the Kruger Park rest camps. Great location, forever friendly staff and comforts of a good hotel. We loved the deck for sundowners, spotting elephants with our torches at night, the buffet was diverse and plentiful, and sitting next to the file with a glass of wine whilst being entertained to some wonderful African dancing and singing! The kids had a ball watching the bushbuck that lived on the hotel grounds and our elderly parents were just as happy watching. The swimming pool was great to cool off in after a dusty day in the Kruger park, where we managed to see the Big 5 on the first day including a leopard eating an impala. A rare and special holiday it will be difficult to forget.
"Not what we had booked but were charged anyway!!"
We had reserved two family rooms so that my husband and I could stay in one and our teenage daughters in the other. When we arrived the hotel had moved our reservation to a self catering house (that sleeps 8 people) and a family room for our daughters. The house and the hotel were in two seperate areas of the lodge and quite far apart so needless to say, we kept the family together in the house. It was not what I had reserved and paid for yet we were charged the full amount for the original booking. The hotel has a restaurant which serves the most horrible food I have ever eaten. The Christmas dinner buffet was just nasty!!! I would not recomend going here unless you want to rent a self catering house and do your own cooking. OH AND BY THE WAY GREEN IS NOT THE NORMAL COLOUR FOR A SWIMMING POOL!!!!!!
