We had an early morning train from Metz to Paris to catch, so instead of driving from our home in Germany, we decided to stay at this hotel next to the station for convenience. Quite possibly one of the worst ideas ever. The original primary problem was the fact that none of my family or I slept at all that night. There is a bar down the street that kept people yelling and drunk at all hours outside of our room. The walls and window frames were paper-thin and every conversation and car driving by kept us up.
We left thinking "man, that was a awful stay, I"ll never have anything to do with that hotel again." But, as we arrived home today and checked our accounts after the trip....you guessed it, they robbed us. We paid for the room up front at the booking, and when we got there we incurred no incidentals or damages. We paid our city tax (less than 2 Euro) in cash. But we were charged to our card again upon our checkout. When I called the hotel today in hopes of resolving this without including hotels.com or the bank, the receptionist spoke English fine..until I wanted the charge fixed at which point he only spoke French and refused to help until he hung up on me. PLEASE avoid this hotel at all costs.
