“Best hotel in the village”

The hotel is located just a few meters from the port. It has apartments and bungalows in a very green and well kept area. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room although a bit small was comfy and clean. The breakfast was amazing, so much choice of fresh fruits, breads, sweet cakes and some local cuisine (fried bananas and cuz-cuz are my highlights). The place is just a few minutes away from the first 2 beaches where you find the best infra-structure (bars, sunbeds, etc) and is also fairly close to the restaurant area. I do however recommend you to try the food in the restaurant itself. It was unbelievably good!

Area recommendations
Take your time to walk around the village. Go to the fortress, the fountain, the lighthouse and the "mirante" for the sunset.
When to go
The summery weather starts by September but you'll find that Bahia will be sunny and warm until April.
Getting there
You can go by boat from Salvador (catamaran). Be aware that the return trip is usually very shaky because the boat travel against the waves. It can take up to 3 hours and if you feel sick very easily it might be best to take the plane back (20 mins only). You can also go via Valença which is considerably shorter but away from the main airports.
