Loved the stay except for day 1 as I had to put a hold on my activities as bathroom wasn’t functioning (no hot water for shower) and wasn’t fixed until late night (was initially told it will take an hour). There was hair on hair dryer in the bathroom so cleaning could be better. But great professional staff, would visit again just for them!

The hotel was stunning and our lake view room was wonderful. Outstanding breakfast and SPA facilities. Great location opposite Lake Geneva and very close to the train station and Montreux centre.

Perfect location to the Christmas market and things to see and do. We walked everywhere. I loved this hotel. The staff were amazing and the rooms were comfortable. Older property, which is what Fairmont is and the architecture is beautiful. Christmas decorations everywhere which made is very festive. Public train to anywhere but specifically Zermatt and Geneva airport was very close but take a cab on your way out and there is a large hill (which we found fine) but if you don't want to lug your suitcase behind you up a hill... Definitely recommend this hotel.

Amazing hotel, I wish we could stay longer.
Absolutely loved staying at this hotel! We had a beautiful view of the garden and the lake. Super spacious room, very clean and filled with all the amenities including a large bathtub. The hotel facilities specially 2x swimming pools were gorgeous and exceptional. Be sure to use the saunas and steam rooms. You can also take advantage of quiet reading room that no kida allowed. Breakfast was just fantastic, delicious and full of options both western and eastern. Highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.

A dream!
Wonderful hotel in every way! Amazing location and beautiful views surrounding the hotel. Spacious room. Excellent service. Great breakfast variety. Friendly staff, especially Mohamed at the front desk— exceptionally helpful and hospitable. Had a lovely time and would definitely stay here again!

Enjoyed being able to stroll lakeside to Queen Experience and the Freddy statue. Only down-side was difficulty getting dinning reservations anywhere on short notice (short=48 hrs)

We were placed in a Signature Room with Lake View. Unfortunately we were facing other buildings rather the Lake View. The lake View was only visible from the balcony at a very sharp angle. Also the bar service was slow and staff not attentive. We had to remind the staff that we ordered drinks on several occasions. I also do not understand why Funky Claude's Bar advertise that food is available until 1am weekdays and yet we were not able to book anything to it? Overall very disappointed.

Big spacious room, with awesome views of the lake and mountains. Room was clean and pleasant. Convenient underpass to the covered carpark. Sofa bed was creaky. Parking at CHF 42 per night is too costly. Neighbouring unit came by to complain that my kids were making too much noise in the morning (due to jet lag). Perhaps the sound insulation is not that great.

Good but not excellent
This hotel is good but i wont call it excellent, the room was good when we arrived, however room service is not as good as you would expect, the car parking was overpriced , breakfast was basic but with a nice view , elevators was accessible for everyone without room card security which i didnt like honestly, the building is amazing i would recommend you to have a look with one of the staff , thank you .

A few flaws...
Since we were 3 friends, we booked a room for 3. The size really generous and set up was perfect. Only disappointment the leaking shower, the fact that you could not fix the shower tub (there was a "rainforest" shower on top though) and the bathroom door that was impossible to close (room 236). It seemed damaged at one connection to the frame. Also, the service at the pool was lousy. When you spent 100 USD for 3 drinks with snacks, it hurts - the service must be impeccable. We had to ask 3 times to get some nuts. At least they did not insist to wear masks everywhere - it was a sensation of freedom in our current times. Another small disappointment were the white plastic cups (!) in the SPA, it destroys the feeling of luxury. Probably due to covid, but they could have found transparent disposable cups instead. In general the SPA is feeling cold, it lacks a bit in personalised, warm decoration. Otherwise everything is perfect and the historical hotel remains of course a must see!

Couldn’t Even Go
To clarify, we did not stay at this property, I am only rating the customer service of the hotel. We had reservations to stay during our time in Switzerland coming from the US, but due to Covid we were not allowed to travel abroad. We had a non-refundable rate that we had booked about a year ago. All other hotels refunded our non-refund rates not problem due to the circumstances, but the fairmont did not oblige. It took the amazing team at Hotels.com to get me my money, so big thanks to them. Not impressed with the five star hotel if they can’t provide more useful service.
