“Visited for the weekend.”
The hotel is getting old and can use a facelift. TV is a tube set with few channels. Faucets are cheap old plastic. Furniture is quite worn and dated. The gym is well equipped, though. It certainly doesn't compare to the omni in other major cities. I would have found it acceptable as a 3 star hotel.
“Good service but decor is a dealbreaker”
Visited Montreal for American Thanksgiving weekend. We were impressed with the concierge, Anne-Marie, who was able to get us Canadiens tickets for the night after we arrived and was very helpful during our stay. However, the decor of the entire hotel is extremely outdated and looks dingy and worn. Couches and rugs in the lobby seemed dirty, and there was a huge hole in the hallway carpet on our floor. Our room was large but included a gigantic, noisy stand-alone air filter that looked many years old....this made me wonder what they were trying to filter out. The thermostat seemed way off in its temperature readings as well. We were also surprised that wi-fi is not included. We were able to use the complimentary wi-fi in the lobby on our smartphones (while sitting on ugly worn out couches and looking at a stained rug). The location is great, but this hotel has obviously not been remodeled since the 80s. I have stayed at other Omni hotels that were beautiful and was expecting more.
“Great location”
Hotel is very comfortable and the staff are all friendly and very accommodating. The hotel rooms could use some updating but the beds are very comfortable and fairly spacious. The location is centrally located to so many sites and restaurants. I would recommend anyone to stay here.
“Great hotel”
My wife, and I have stayed at the Omni Mont-Royal many times, and have greatly enjoyed each stay. The staff is courteous, and accomodating to a fault, and we look forward to our next stay there
“We'll be staying at the Omni next time for sure!”
Fantastic gym facilities - there's everything! (just the leg machine needed tuning up). The Concierge was very informative and cordial!
“going back again”
Best bang for your buck Stayed there many times over many years.
“Lovely hotel”
I used Expedia mystery hotel option for recent business trip. It was lovely. The staff were very professional and the room was clean comfortable and a bit luxurios for the money. Much nicer than the hotel near the conference centre which cost more. They did have high prices for breakfast / room service and they could have provided bottled water for less than $7 but would recommend to others and would stay there again.
“Nice hotel for the price, but....”
There are many other better hotels, in the same area, and in the same price range. I don't know if we just got the 'expedia special' room, or what, but it was like an 80's time warp. Very old decor, fixtures and furniture (ancient TV). No coffee maker. Yucky carpet. They did have nice bath and shower products. The biggest problem was with the windows - the room had an extra corner window, which opened (and closed poorly - this would be tough in a Montreal winter, as I could feel the breeze), but it was barely covered with flimsy shutters, which did nothing to keep the light out. So, if you like to sleep later than, say 6am, you are out of luck. Bright as day. Also a squeaky bed frame and a headboard which banged the wall at the slightest of movements. We were barely staying for 2 nights, so we didn't bother telling the staff, and in their defense, we may have been offered a better room if we had done so. Tough luck if it was a full house I imagine. Not worth the risk of returning. Blind rates can be dangerous.
“Great Weekend Getaway”
I stayed in this hotel with my best friend and we loved it. It was close to shopping, restaurants, and museums. The Concierge was extremely helpful and went the extra mile for guests. overall a great stay
“We will not return”
We will not return. The hotel is tired and very much in need of renovation. The hotel front desk staff were not well informed when directions were required. We would have preferred that they indicated a lack of knowledge rather than directing us several blocks out of our way. The hotel did some plumbing mainenance leaving us with very rusty water and at no point informed us of the fact that this maintenance was to occur. Despite the fact that we find Montreal the most charming of cities the hotel was lacking in too many ways.
