“not so bad”
I stayed in this hotel for 2 days, the furnitures are a bit old, the first room, one lightbulb in the first room they arranged didn't work, and the second room, the bathroom extract fan didn't work, I guess there was always one thing that didn't work. The rests are fine, free wifi, and every other basic stuffs. The price of the hotel and the quality equal are balancing.
“Basic Older Facility at good price, location and service”
This is an apartment hotel with kitchens that would be "retro" except that they are from the 1960s. The facility is clean, updated bathrooms, and extremely conveniently located in downtown Montreal. You may not want it for a honeymoon location but it is great value for price. Would use it again - and is pet friendly.
“One of The Worst Hotels I've Ever Stayed In!!”
The room was dirty and not well-maintained. There were extension cords all over the place, which caused a hazard. It just felt old & dirty. I stayed there because it was close to the U.S. Embassy, just a few blocks awayand that was the only good point of the hotel - the convenience to my destination. Stay away from this hotel if you want to enjoy your stay in Montreal!!
“Comfy hotel at a GREAT price!”
I spent the weekend at La Tour! I found the hotel quite comfortable, more so than Delta Hotel. It was no luxurious but then again I wasn´t looking for luxury. My roommate snored like if his lungs were about to collapse so I decided to take my Zzz to the livingroom couch. To my surprise I had never had such a great night sleep. The room is equipped with a living area, a full bathroom, a kitchen and a dorm -very BIG. The internet was free and so was the TV! The hotel is conveniently located, near the Palais de Congres, China town, and other attactions! I would definately recommend this hotel.
“No ambience, but decent value”
Nothing has been done to this place for decades: decor, quality, etc is 1960s or 70s cheap. The elevator door rubs and many of its floor indicator lights are burnt out. The colors are unmemorable: browns? blahs? The sheets are worn thin. Kitchenette, sure, but the fridge makes noises and there's nothing to cook with, no plates, just a couple of mugs and wine glasses. Nonetheless, the location is convenient whether you're there to see your child who attends McGill, to check out cuisine in the old part of town, or to shop -- the city is nearby. The place is clean. The service polite. So, hey, you get what you pay for: this is one of the lower cost hotels around.
“Great Location”
I only stayed for one night for a quick trip but if I have to go to Montreal again for a longer period, I would pick this hotel again. The staff was very nice, room very clean and great location.
“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone”
Old, run down hotel. Bathroom smelled of urine. Due to delays on my flight I was not able to check in on the date I had reserved. They charged me for the night I missed even after I called as soon as I knew my filght wouldn't make it in time.
“Great location - close to everything”
The location of this hotel is great. There were 3 reasons that I booked this hotel: price, suite, location. The furnitures are very old, especially the sofa, did not want to sit on it!
“Good for low budget”
Ok, this hotel is old. The staff at the front desk were awesome, I give them a 10! The building is old and not the greatest. I was awake for 40+ hours when I checked in so I appreciated the staffs help. I had no towels in the bathroom. I woke up at 3 a.m. sore because it was not till then I noticed my bed felt like a sheet of plywood! Not comfortable. The space was well used and cozy. I did not mind this hotel for what I paid, but knowing there are others like the Travelodge only a block away I would go there. Very convienent for my visit to the US Consulate though.
“a very good location but a poor cleanliness standard!”
the location is very good.. its just that the bed sheets and the pillows are soo yellowish and they smell so bad. Even the furniture.. like loveseat chair et are worn out and they smell as well
