“Price would be better if the breakfast is included!”

Two queen beds were pretty nice and comfortable. The air-condition was extremely strong so we get Kind of dehydrated. The price wasn't too bad if the breakfast was included. The restaurantat the downstairs of the hotel was little crappy an I didn't like the waiter. He was little rude.

“Convenient Montreal Hotel”

Hotel Lord Beri is a basic but convenient hotel centrally located in the downtown Monteal area. I was able to walk to restaurants, shops and the Metro station is only a half a block away. If you are looking for 5 star service and amenities then this hotel is not for you. However, if you need convenience and friendly staff then this is a great hotel.

“Lord Berri, Montreal”

This is my second stay at the Lord Berri, as its location is extremely convenient next to the Metro station, and close to a variety of locales. While an older hotel, the rooms are always clean, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. It's a great hotel for those who love exploring Montreal.

“Better Than Expected !”

I booked this hotel before having a friend tell me it was a dump. Well I must say this hotel must have been recently remodeled because everything about the rooms and hallways was very well done and looked pretty brand new. The only bad thing I will say was this hotel had a poorly designed lobby which takes away from the shine of the hotel. The lobby is pretty much nothing but a few couches and some fake flowers or something. The reception desk looked like one of those desks from a European hotel that is mid range. The hotel had ok service. They made me put my luggage in the luggage storage room. I guess they have no porters. That said, the rooms were excellent. The beds were nice. Good pillows. Nice towels. Good tv. The drapes shut out all sunglight in case you want to sleep in with no sun beating on ur eyelids. The hallways were interesting. They were not straight and narrow. They curved and ended up offering you a lot of privacy. I never saw another guest there even though there were probably 20 other rooms on my floor. My friend who had warned me that this place was a dump came to visit me when I was there and he was amazed at how well the hotel look. I guess it had been remodeled since had had last visited. I was very happy as this was the location I wanted to be in and it turned out perfectly!

Area recommendations
This area is called the St. Catherine / Old Quarter area. It is across the street from the University of Quebec and just two blocks from all the nighlife of the gay area and the college bars along rue St. Catherine. This is where I like to hang out at night and so it was perfect !
Getting around
Montreal also has rent a bike programs and I was able to rent a bike and bike all over Montreal in every direction for very little money! The bikes were available for rent 2 blocks from this hotel. The subway stop is 2 blocks from the hotel as well which made it very convenient to get to the center of the city. Also if you are a budget traveler, Montreal has a direct city bus that takes you to the airport for I think $8. The bus station is on Rue du Berri which is the same street as the hotel and it is only 3 blocks walking disstance from the hotel. I took the bus on my return trip back and it was awesome. That bus runs every 30 minutes I believe and everything there went as smoothly as possible!

“Lord Berri - Not bad”

Stayed here when all other hotels in the area were booked. Would not recommend anything other than an Executive Room which is recently renovated. Other rooms are outdated and shabby, Executive room was quite comfortable and newly refurbished.

“Don't overlook this gem”

This hotel is ideally situated to access all you want to see in Montreal. It's just a short walk down hill to Vieux Montreal (the old port) and 2 blocks to the Metro station to get anywhere else you'd like to go. Lots of choice for restaurants in the area and really inexpensive (under $5 for bacon & eggs for breakfast). Within walking district of theatres and galleries in Quartier Spectacular. My son was concerned that we were staying in an area that might not be safe at night. This was definitely not the case. I highly recommend using Hotel Lord Berri as your "base camp" to explore Montreal. Also check out the free walking tour of Quartier Spectacular and the Pub Crawl (civilized) of local brew pubs.

“Awful Experience!!!!!”

Staying at the Lord Berri was an awful experience!!! The room looked better in the online pictures. The room hadn't been cleaned properly before I was given the key. Plastic soldiers were scattered around the room and long hairs were on the sink. After spending the night and touring around Montreal, I came back to an uncleaned room. The beds weren't made, towels weren't restocked, etc. Since hotel parking wasn't available, I forced to park in a lot beside the hotel. My car was broken into (2 broken windows and body damage). The police told me I needed to move my car to secure lot (which the hotel couldn't provide). So I had to leave the hotel before completing my stay. The desk clerk said I wouldn't be charged for the night I had to leave. After 3 weeks, the hotel still won't answer my emails or allow me to speak to a manager. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!! Try the Gouveneur across the street. It is a much nicer hotel and offers secure parking.
