This property is perfect for a quick getaway to Carmel! Within walking distance to all the wonderful restaurants and shops as well as Carmel Beach! The bedding is amazing, you won’t want to leave your room to explore the beauty of Carmel!

Very nice stay overall. Love the updated king rooms with the fireplace and the jetted bathtub is amazing and was able to fill and enjoy without running out of hot water. The private little courtyard was nice for enjoying coffee or a glass of wine. The only real negative is the ceiling seems to be quite thin and our headboard wall was against an outside stairwell and we could hear every step up the stairs and across the floor above us. We were there Fri-Tues and the weekend night were the worst, quieting down on the weeknights. Overall our stay was very enjoyable however, next time we will get a room upstairs if available. BTW, their coffee is excellent and the cookies each day are delicious.

This is a great location. It’s within walking distance of everything. Parking however is a bit challenging.

Exceptionally large one bedroom, several comfortable lounge chairs, very helpful and courteous staff, cookies a nice touch. very quiet on the top floor. Close to Ocean Ave and shopping.

Great location and friendly staff. The rooms are a good size, and the bed was super comfy. Also, the jacuzzi tub was great! My only negative is the rooms could use some freshening. Our kitchen had a burn mark on the wallpaper next to the stove, which needed attention.

Great location in Carmel. Generous size room with a balcony and a lovely fireplace. Very easy walk to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Highly recommend.

It was a nice place except that the furnace wasn’t working properly. We were freezing the first night but the manager lent us a space heater which helped. The furnace was kind-of fixed the next day — it came on but we were told not to change the temperature or it would shut down again and we’d have to wait for a service person again. It kept it warm enough but not as warm as would be comfortable. The thermostat was set at 70 but the furnace wouldn’t turn on until the room got to 60. It was a nice place but we were cold a lot of the time.

Carmel Christmas Getaway
More than expected! Great location with so much to do, see, and explore, all within short walking distance. This includes great shops, wine tasting, and food. On-site private parking was a definite plus on arrival, especially if you are familiar with the crowded and difficult touristy parking situation in this area. Our first interaction after parking was with the housekeeping staff, who were apparently doing double duty sweeping up fallen winter leaves and tidying up parking area. They warmly greeted us and helped direct us to the lobby. We were able to check in an hour early with the help of Scott at the front desk. Again, very friendly, thorough, and helpful. We entered our second story room and we're immediately impressed by the actual size of the room and even moreso by its charm. Great lighting from the many windows and the plantation/louvered style shutters. Even a door to a small balcony to sit for an evening or morning sip of coffee. Our room came with a cozy fireplace which only added to the overall charm and ambience of the room. And let's not forget the jetted tub, which was more than roomy enough for my wife and I. Very clean and meticulously kept. Furnished with a small fridge, ample fresh towels and guest robes, coffee maker, glasses and mugs, and two separate vanities that worked out perfectly for my wife and I. Comfy and cozy bed and amazingly quiet considering being located amidst the surrounding hustle and bustle. Loved our visit and highly reco

The room was pretty good overall. I liked that there were two TVs and a fire place. Furniture and couch pillows need to be deep cleaned. Couch made us feel a bit itchy after sitting for a few minutes.

The Wayside Inn was very well located for easy walking to all of the shops and restaurants of Carmel. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Our only issue was that we wished we had stayed longer!
