Perfekt hotell

Posted 23-Feb-2015
Vi promenerade till pacific groove för frukost. Se piren men undvik restaurangerna och pröva ölbryggerierna med kanon restauranger på huvudgatan bakom hotellet istället. Liten sunkig pool , så en natt räcker här. Men hotellet var superfint.

Nice Getaway with Kids

Posted 19-Feb-2015
Pros: The location is excellent. Rooms are very nicely decorated. We asked for a courtyard room and it was very quiet.
Cons: Free wi-fi, less expensive parking.
Location: Pier, Boardwalk, Historic Sites, Cannery Row and Aquarium.
Stay at hotel was perfect. We had two moms and 3 kids for a school break. The kids loved the warm pool and jacuzzi. Quick walk to the pier, boardwalk, historic sites and Benihana's. We rented bikes and went on the boardwalk to cannery row and beyond. You can actually walk to cannery row. Hotel is beautiful and staff was very helpful. They give you cookies when you arrive which is great with kids. Starbucks and a good Italian cafe are next door. I would absolutely stay here again. Far better hotel than some name brand hotels we stayed at in recent years.

glad we stayed here

Posted 02-Feb-2015
Pros: location; also liked in and out parking.
Cons: Free wi-fi in room would be a big plus. the room cost enough that this would be a nice benie.
Location: it was easy to get to the aquarium, restaurants, and to Pacific Grove for sight-seeing.
front desk staff very professional and accommodating. really loved the warm cookie reception room with view very nice. every thing laid out nicely. only complaint--bed too high; too hard; and comforter too heavy; not for the elderly (we are 70 and 80).

Nice hotel, quite a bit of noise

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The hotel seemed to be a little older; perhaps, but extremely well maintained.
Cons: The noise level of the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay in Monterey. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to all main attractions, which was our primary goal! Upon arrival, our vacation buzz was slightly tainted as the check-in staff was not the most welcoming but all other staff we encountered throughout our stay were polite and made us feel very comfortable. The unfortunate part was the noise level of the hotel. While there doesn't seem to be much the hotel can do to improve this issue, I think it's important to mention for those who are light sleepers, as myself. I attribute the noise to the age of the hotel and location. Throughout the night we must have heard toilets flush nearly 50 times as the plumbing throughout the building is so loud. Similarly, in the morning we heard pretty much every guests' shower. Outside our window was a walking plaza that lead from Old Fisherman's Wharf to a downtown shopping district. Between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. there was a lot of skateboard activity here, as well. We thought the hotel was nice but as a light sleeper, between the plumbing and the noise from the plaza, it was a really difficult night of sleep. I would recommend the hotel but with the awareness that there is quite a bit of noise.
