They say they are ready to renovate ...

Posted 02-Oct-2014
.. which is a good thing because they need it. I guess it was O.K. for the money but it could really use renovation - old and tired.

Loud unable to sleep

Posted 25-Aug-2014
The room have flooring that is very loud and echoes. Laminate I believe. I could not sleep because every time any room around us woke up it was loud. The people around us stayed up all night and the thin walls and loud floors made for a terrible night. They also made us prepay for the entire stay. Which is fine except I was told I could cancell with 24 hour notice so when I booked for four days I found out when I arrived I had to stay four days and could not change because it was so loud. Staff was nice but nothing could be done about the noise.

This is what you get for booking at the last minute when all the other hotels are booked. Way Overpriced for the level of accommodations.

This was a last minute accommodation for one night during the BUSIEST weekend of the year... The Concourse De Elegance. I am sure we paid triple the going rate but were happy to have Hotel.com to help us make this very last minute reservation. Excellent customer service from Hotel.com.

it worked, but....

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: convenient
Cons: the room needed significant updating and to be deordorized
this was a last minute need and about all we could find. It was very overpriced, as is all of Monterey, but the room smell of disinfectant was strong and the mattress was extremely worn. It got us by for one night, but wouldn't go back.

Pros: It was cheap.
Location: It's near Carmel and convenient to the highway.
The walls were thin. You could hear everything going on in the next room, and the room above, which was a problem when you were trying sleep. There were stains the bead spread that looked like blood and stains on a blanket that looked like something else.

Poor service. At first the room seemed clean, but looking under furniture told another story. The room had a borrible tub. It was old and the shower control stuck so it could not ne turned off for a tub bath.
