Loud unable to sleep

Posted 25-Aug-2014
The room have flooring that is very loud and echoes. Laminate I believe. I could not sleep because every time any room around us woke up it was loud. The people around us stayed up all night and the thin walls and loud floors made for a terrible night. They also made us prepay for the entire stay. Which is fine except I was told I could cancell with 24 hour notice so when I booked for four days I found out when I arrived I had to stay four days and could not change because it was so loud. Staff was nice but nothing could be done about the noise.

it worked, but....

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: convenient
Cons: the room needed significant updating and to be deordorized
this was a last minute need and about all we could find. It was very overpriced, as is all of Monterey, but the room smell of disinfectant was strong and the mattress was extremely worn. It got us by for one night, but wouldn't go back.

Pros: It was cheap.
Location: It's near Carmel and convenient to the highway.
The walls were thin. You could hear everything going on in the next room, and the room above, which was a problem when you were trying sleep. There were stains the bead spread that looked like blood and stains on a blanket that looked like something else.

The JACUZZI is worth it!!!

Posted 06-Aug-2014
Pros: jacuzzi, bed, pillows, air conditioning, fireplace, microwave, refrigerator
Cons: Staff could be more attentive. They made me feel a bit lost, but overall nice.
Location: fisherman's wharf, cannery row, Monterey Bay aquarium, dennis the mennis park
We stayed in a King Jacuzzi Room. My boyfriend and I went on a quick getaway, literally got the room the day we left for vacation. It was really nice. You can't tell from the provided pictures, but if you wanted to, you could fit three people in that jacuzzi, two very comfortably. It has a sign to not use the jacuzzi after 10, but we did anyways and got no complaints. The room was huge. There was a fireplace, a nice little round table with two comfy chairs, a microwave, an airconditioner, a coffee pot (ours didn't work so well), and a small refrigerator. The shower and toilet were nothing to write home about. They had a nice sink area with a well lit mirror. Make sure you bring shampoo and conditioner, there is none, just body soap. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. It's an easy drive away from the fisherman's wharf, cannery row, Monterey Bay aquarium, dennis the mennis park, and more. It wasn't much from the outside, but it was really nice to have that private jacuzzi, so if you are looking for something romantic, this is the place.

I stayed there just 1 day, so it was ok. The price is expensive for the hotel, but the location is excellent.

Room in need of repair

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Broken curtain left a gap and broken headboard left holes in the wall. When I asked about this I was told motel was being sold so no repairs wod be done until new owner took over. On Expedia it was posted as $120 but it changed to $140 when I pushed book it. Room was clean and serviceable. Staff was pleasant but made no offer to adjust the $332 price for. 2 nights based on the poor condition of the room . Only later did he say that other rooms might have been better but we had requested Downstairs. If we knew that we might have changed to 2nd floor.

Very disappointing

Posted 03-Jul-2014
Pros: The price
Cons: Everything
Location: Centrally located for shopping or touring.
We booked a night at this hotel based on the reviews and the low price. We were given a room that reeked with a chemical smell and when I asked to move, I was told to open the window as it had just been cleaned. The smell never totally went away. Also, the curtains were falling off the rod and the towels were threadbare. You get what you pay for, but I would never stay here again.
