Room in need of repair

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Broken curtain left a gap and broken headboard left holes in the wall. When I asked about this I was told motel was being sold so no repairs wod be done until new owner took over. On Expedia it was posted as $120 but it changed to $140 when I pushed book it. Room was clean and serviceable. Staff was pleasant but made no offer to adjust the $332 price for. 2 nights based on the poor condition of the room . Only later did he say that other rooms might have been better but we had requested Downstairs. If we knew that we might have changed to 2nd floor.

Very disappointing

Posted 03-Jul-2014
Pros: The price
Cons: Everything
Location: Centrally located for shopping or touring.
We booked a night at this hotel based on the reviews and the low price. We were given a room that reeked with a chemical smell and when I asked to move, I was told to open the window as it had just been cleaned. The smell never totally went away. Also, the curtains were falling off the rod and the towels were threadbare. You get what you pay for, but I would never stay here again.

Very pleasantly surprised.

Stayed in 3 different motels while on vacation in Calif and this was the best we encountered. The staff was friendly, room & bathroom was clean. This may not be a big deal to some but the bedding and towels were soft. Would stay here again most definitely.

Super clean and close to the beach!

We stayed in one of the jacuzzi suites with a fireplace for a great rate! It was so worth it! Spacious, clean, staff was very nice. They even gave us a map and pointed out nice places to visit and drew up a map. Perfect distance from the beach. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. :)

Great location and great price

Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location near the wharf (less than 3 minutes by car), all at a great price. We particularly like the wooden-like floors in the rooms instead of the carpets. This is a budget hotel, so don't expect anything fancy, but you will be greeted by friendly staff and a clean place to spend a couple of nights.

Good hotel, close to everything

Posted 21-Jun-2014
Descent hotel, a little old, some paint was peeling in the bathroom around the door frame but not terrible. Free continental breakfast is only mini muffins, coffee, toast and bananas, but its better than nothing. The bed was very comfortable and the location was close to everything. We rode our bikes everywhere, I would stay here again.

Works if you just need a place to sleep.

Posted 14-Jun-2014
I'm traveling the country alone right now and needed a place to sleep. I would have preferred camping, but all nearby grounds were full. It was the cheapest I could find and now I know why. The staff was friendly, but when I went to the room I was assigned and opened the door someone else's stuff was all inside. They weren't there, thank goodness, but how do you make that mistake?? I went back and the woman at the desk was apologetic but didn't seem to understand how bad that was. It's a good thing I'm an honest person or I could have walked off with all of their stuff from that room. The bed sheets were terrible. I ended up sleeping on top of it all with my own bedding I brought with me. It was close to lots of things so that helped. When I checked out there was just a sign that said "please leave keys here." Security is clearly not their top priority.

OK for short stay

Posted 07-May-2014
Pros: It was on the main road and not too far from Cannery Row area.
Cons: Make sure everything is in working condition before guests arrive.
Location: I think it's in a good location and near the Cannery Row and Aquarium.
We stay one night. It was a large room. One of the curtain rod was broken off the curtain but we were able to make it work so we had coverage. The bathroom door does not stay open and the bathroom sink was clogged.

The bathroom had self closing hinges and the exhaust fan didn't work so there was mold all over the bathroom. Wasn't a horrible place, it was just gross because of the mold. I'm probably not going to stay there next time.
