“Not Impressed”
This is an older hotel. It was a very noisy place. The walls are thin and the neighbors sound like they are in the room with you. Obove us were a man, a woman, and a child easily recognized by their footsteps which could not be ignored even if we tried. I would not recommend this place if you are looking to "get away." The breakfast room was way too small. There were long lines every day. There was no fruit even though it was advertised. Just not what we want to experience when on vacation.
“Flea Bag”
As an Environmental Health Professional I was sicked to find that the bed was infested with fleas, My wife was bitten several times. The area was good enough and the price was right, Proximity to local attractions was good.
“Only stay here as a last resort”
The first thing that happened after we finally got into our room was we all had to use the restroom after a 3 hour drive. I lifted the toilet lid and it fell off in my hand! I had to pick up debris and a bobby pin off the floor, there was blood on the wall and the fan didn't work so there was mold on the ceiling, walls and bottom of the shower curtain. The hot tub was broken - she told me there was a leak and didn't know when it would be fixed when I asked. The breakfast was awful to say the least. The waffle maker didn't work correctly so the insides of the waffles were raw. The orange juice machine was broken and the coffee machine put out sludge. I had to search for knives and spoons as only forks were set out. There was bread available and 3 kinds of cereal however, the cereal we would like there were only crumbs left. We have 5 in our family and there was only enough milk for 2 bowls of cereal. We ended up eating out for breakfast every day. We helped to be green by hanging up our towels our first 3 nights. We left them on the ground to have clean ones for our last night. We were certainly surprised to come back that evening to find we had NO maid service that day. The front desk reply? I am so sorry. I told her but she is having health issues and must not have understood to do your room. If I wanted to make my own beds/vacuum/clean my linens, I would have stayed home or rented an apartment!
“Do not stop here”
The room we had was at the end of a hall with a make shift tool shed and work space for the handi-man to do repairs directly across from our door. The curtains did not close all the way. There was mildew on the windows. The walls were very dirty, the floor tile grout was black and tile was white it was dirt not the color of the grout. The handle on the shower that controls the water fell off when turned on. There were two of us and only 2 very very worn out bath towels that had not seen fabric softner in their entire life. I would not even use them to dust with it was way past replacement time for linens. The carpet was filthy and stained. It was the worse mattress I have ever slept on, we could feel the springs in it. It was not a good part of town, should have felt safer there were police everywhere with someone on the side walk. I felt so uncomfortable with the surroundings we took our luggage with us when we left the room. Unfortunatley we were on a very limited budget and we were not able to afford to move to a new motel, we did come home early.
“Basic but clean”
Nothing fancy, very basic. Rooms are kept up well. Check-in was fast and easy. Breakfast buffet was simple, juice, coffee, waffles and toast. Just right for an overnight stay. Price was great. My only complaint is with the heating system in the room. It took hours for the room to warm up and it never got above barely comfortable. When traveling with my wife I usually stay at higher end hotels. When by myself I just need a bed and TV and this place was fine with me.
“"Never Again"”
Pay more for better quality. Very noisy walls so thin I could hear my nieghbor snoring all night with the outside noise as well. On the upside the desk clerk was pleasant and the waffles at breakfast were good.
“okay to stay but dont recommend”
this hotel is okay to stay in if there is no other one available walls are too thin rooms are okay parking is limited...well i don't plan to stay again so think before you book
“Noisy Neighbors!”
I had my option to pick the bottom or top floor. I really wished I would have picked the top instead. Some party came in around 9:30 and I could not get to sleep for the rest of the night. The mattress wasn't that hot either. But I did get back at the upstairs neighbors the next morning around 6:00 when I turned on the shower to hear the pipes in the walls making a racket. :) Also, location wise compared to where the main attractions of monterey is a little far away.
“Not clean - will never come back”
Not clean - will never come back
“Its "ok" for the price but check all your options first.”
CON: I was quite disappointed with the room. When I walked in it smelled damp, like old wet towels. The fan in the bathroom made a dreadful banging sound that was so annoying I tried using the toilet with the lights off (lights only worked if fan was on). PRO: The breakfast was FANTASTIC! Make-your-own waffles, great coffee, fresh fruit. Overall: Price was great but was hoping for something a bit cleaner.
