“very good for the money”

the motel was clean, the bathroom was new, the room had all the necessary amenities. Great place to stay when your goal is to be out and about, don't want to spend a fortune on a room, and yet must have a clean, comfortable room. I would stay there again.

“Nice hotel; great location!”

This hotel is in a great location. All the cute shops, galleries and wonderful restaurants of Carmel are within easy walking distance, and the beach is just a few blocks farther. It is not a luxury hotel, more like a nice motel. The standard room was a bit small which made it hard to get around the king-size bed. However, it was clean, and nicely renovated, especially the granite bathroom. The suite next door looked much roomier. All in all a nice place for a weekend get-away!

This hotel was in the thick of everything. I loved being in Carmel and Clarion Carmel by the Sea was such a treat!

“Clean, comfortable, GREAT location”

Don't be put off by the picture. I didnt even recognise it when I got there. Right in the center of town. Quiet, clean, good parking, comfortable.

“Very nice, cozy place!”

My fiance and I went here for a last-minute romantic weekend. Since this was the only hotel with a room available I was kind of concerned, but when we got into the room we were completely wowed. It is such a lovely place! It's also only a couple blocks from Patisserie Boissiere, which is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to.

“Good value for Carmel”

We stayed here for just one night, on our way to Big Sur. Each morning they give you a breakfast basket around 8 or 9:00, but we were leaving earlier than that, so they brought it to us the night before. The room and bathroom were quite clean and comfortable... a cozy atmosphere. We had a king size bed; the room was a decent size, not cramped. It was nearby all the shops & restaurants in Carmel, and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. It wasn't anything extravagant or posh, but definitely one of the better deals in Carmel. I would definitely stay there again!

Very clean rooms, perfect location for walking Carmel and to restaurants. Very delicious breakfast baskets delivered every morning. Very nice and helpful staff. Just an over the top value. Highly recommend it.

“One of the best in Carmel”

have stayed here a couple of other times, but this time, rooms were updated and bathrooms completely remodeled in all granite, very nice. Room size is average, very comfortable beds,the heater is a fake flame fireplace with a thermostat. Very quiet, many other hotels in downtown are not. Continental breakfast basket is delivered to front door around 8am. (This hotel does not have a minimum 2 night stay either.)

“Would go back again”

The hotel was located 2 block from Ocean Street where most of the Carmel store are. The sign for the hotel is small and may be overlooked, but the hotel itself it nice. Every morning a "breakfast basket" is delivered TO your door, ours came complete with: a orange juice, milk, bear claw, apple, granola bar, and cereal for each person. Each hotel room had it's own special name, such as Pleasant Grove; although I think all the rooms were in the same inside. During our stay we met with three different front desk staff and all were very nice and willing to help with directions or anything asked. There are also a ton of local art galleries located nearby.
