The Centrella hotel is an absolutely beautiful historic home! Staff was welcoming and friendly and in a great location. Definitely would stay here again!

Loved the breakfast homemade granola with yogurt and fruit, our room was right on the front and street was noisey... parking is limited on site.

This is an old, historic building. Walls are thin, rooms are tiny, beds are not very comfortable and although in a neighborhood setting—the mornings are super noisy starting at 7:00am.

So called continental breakfast was pretty much nonexistent. Today at 8:30 am there were three tiny muffins and an almost empty pitcher of orange juice on offer. Coffee was there, but that was it. Carpet in the room looks worn and dirty I won’t complain about the fact that the hot water went off while I was taking a shower yesterday morning. I realize that it’s an old building and stuff happens, but shivering in the shower with shampoo dripping in my face while waiting for any water to come on did not add to my enjoyment of the stay.

I've stayed here numerous times pre-covid. You can't beat the location, off street parking and polite staff. While everything worked and was spotless, I found the facility a bit run down and in need of some cosmetic updates. It's not enough for me to not return. I will be back!

Do NOT go there! They only have 5 parking spots for the entire hotel!! It is noisy, you can hear the people in the upper floor even if they are talking, let alone the staff in the lobby! Very small rooms and bathrooms.

Hotel is charming. Loved the cottage! Stayed with two granddaughters and they loved it. Lovely patio. Very quiet. The one main negative was the reception clerk who was not sociable at all. Didn't greet us nor particularly make us feel welcome. There was no parking available on site (only 5 spaces total) and when we arrived there was a large party nearby and there was no street parking for at least four blocks in all directions. The clerk didn't seem to care.

Great staff and friendly check-in. Comfortable bed and hot water in the room. Clean rooms and tidy facility. Complementary champagne is great! Rooms agains the road may experience some traffic noise at night when trying to sleep. Within walking distance of great restaurants!

Breakfast was all carbs. Could not eat it but coffee. I have to bring chicken and an egg I am diabetic. I was at Centrells inn2 times b4 and got a real breakfast. Also no refrigerator or microwave in room.

We were not planning to stay at the Centrella Hotel as our trip from LA to SF was all “off the cuff” (unplanned) and as we were not planning to over night at Monterey we would not of had the extreme pleasure of staying at the Centrella. We arrived late at night and were greeted with a very nice warm smile and collected our key to a beautiful room/suite. The bed was soo comfortable after a long day of driving and sightseeing. The only thing that I could possibly think of that needs improvement is the plumbing as the hot water needed time to travel through the old pipes. That said it adds to the charm of an old lady that has been around since 1892. We will stay here again if in Monterey.

It was ok.
When checking in, did not know we had to pay for additional fee for booking with a third party. The room was very cold did not know how to use the fireplace because there was no heater to turn on. The bed couch was very uncomfortable.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. There was a TV and a fireplace area in the lobby. That was very comfortable to sit around with other people. The house was pretty quiet and felt pretty homey. There were great restaurants around the area and of course, being in Monterey is just beautiful.

Good Stay, Great Hotel but a Little Tired
Overall a good stay. The staff is great, the garden is wonderfully soothing and the hotel is historic in a great part of Pacific Grove. Wine and cookies was a nice touch. The carpet was tired in places and our room’s windows didn’t all shut, which made it louder on the street side. Still worth the stay but there were a few issues.

Quiet property with a nice staff. lovely small continental breakfast in the morning, wine and cookies in the early evening. Its in a central location in Pacific Grove. Its easy to walk to the butterfly sanctuary, nearby restaurants, lovers point, and about a 30 minute stroll down the coastal pathway to Cannery Row and other monterey attractions, which is one of the most scenic walks ever! We've stayed here a few times, will stay again!
