There was nothing good about this property at all.
It is untidy, run down, with rude staff and should be avoided by anyone visiting Monterey.
We booked our room several months in advance, and was put in a room that was next to the front door, foyer and breakfast area. We checked in at 3.00pm.
When I asked if we could be moved, the young lady on the desk was dismissive and extremely rude in her tone, when I asked if I could speak to the manager, she simply replied he was not on the property at this time and that due to renovations in some rooms nothing could be done.
Obviously the front desk did not tell the manager I was not satisfied, as we never heard from them.
We could hear the humming of the juice machine through the wall all night and then the commotion created by staff setting up for the breakfast from around 5.30am, then the noise generated from other hotel guests having breakfast from 6.00am.
As this is a pet friendly hotel, the room smelt of dog and the settee/lounge was a disgrace and should either be deep cleaned or thrown out.
The mattress (king bed) was old and lumpy and had a pronounced dip in the middle, which made for an extremely uncomfortable night.
We selected this hotel based on the Expedia ratings, however on this occasion they were way off. Do not take any notice of the photo's provided by the hotel for this property as they are not a true representation of what to expect.
We paid a premium price for a below standard hotel.
