Good for the price

Posted 27-Jun-2015
Pros: Comfortable bed, good linens
Cons: noise from pipes and other mechanical equipment needs to be addressed.
Over all it was an alright stay, checked in with no problem, although a overhead light in the bathroom was burned out. Also had to search for the 2nd remote for the TV just to turn it on separate from the cable. There was however a lot of rumbling and noises in the walls adjoining the room from mechanical and plumbing apparently and the ice just outside the door was a bit loud at all hours of the night. The bed was very comfortable and the linens used were excellent, one problem I've found with hotel rooms is the sheets and comforters rarely stay tucked in on the beds requiring the guest to practically make the bed everytime they use it. Wifi was very good, also the amenities for the bath and room were adequate.

Much more of a 'motel' than 'hotel.'

You can tell they attempted a renovation somewhat, but didn't quite hit the mark. Breakfast in restaurant was good (not free)... The mini mart next door was very convenient. That was the best part of the hotel for me. Spa is falling apart, tiles coming out, but the pool was big and very heated which was nice. Room was very dim and our room was loud being next the parking lot. I would not stay here again, very low price but not worth the cheapness of it.

Disappointing. They have done a minimal upgrade. We had 2 rooms. One of the rooms didn't have any chairs. We had to ask for them.

Bait and switch

I paid for two queens and when I checked in was given 1 bed and a terribly uncomfortable pull out sofa. Hotel was noisy - doors slamming, and old.

Loud and dirty

Posted 10-Jun-2015
Pros: desk clerk on 2nd night was polite
Location: you have to drive to do anything
Both saturday and sunday they started doing construction in the room next to mine before 8 am. There was garbage on the floor of the room when we walked in. the pool and hot tub where out of order.

An economy hotel in a very nice area.

Posted 10-Jun-2015
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: Minor touchups, such as painting rooms
Location: Monterey is a beautiful town near Pebble Beach. The Monterey Aquarium is the best I have ever been to (and I've seen a few). Cannery row is a fun also
I don't have anything negative to say about the experience and the staff. But the quality is a few steps down from 4 or 5 star (which is reflected by its rating, no problem, I get it). I can look past a lot of things that some people can't. There was paint peeling and flaking in the bathroom that did not affect my stay, but I noticed it. The walls are painted concrete in the room which is not the prettiest, but I can live with it. The jacuzzi was not working when we were there, but they did have a heated pool. Overall, I can't complain. The staff was friendly and I did not have any problems. The best and pillows were decent and comfortable enough. The restaurant on site is a little pricey for the quality of food. I recommend exploring Monterey. The location of this hotel for the price is the true value. The room is sufficient, but nothing will WOW you. I recommend it if you are on a budget or just want to save a couple bucks.

Last minute reservation and glad I stayed here

Posted 08-Jun-2015
Pros: The staff was great, a gas station with a small store is in same lot, the hotel is very pet friendly.
Location: We went to Carmel shopped and at at Hogs Breath Inn, took the 17 mile drive which has nice scenery, and we played out at the beach.
We checked into the Knights Inn and 30 minutes later we checked out. We were able to book Bay Park Hotel the same night. The hotel was very pet friendly, rooms were clean, beds very comfortable. The hotel staff were awesome assisting me at 3 am getting my wife some tea and faxing off a document. The floors were faux wood which makes the room brighter and cleaner...God only knows what gets on hotel carpets.

Convenient and Dog Friendly

Posted 07-Jun-2015
Pros: Friendly staff and dog friendly.
Cons: Sound proof rooms. Fix spa. Don't put guests in wings where remodeling is going on.
Location: There was shopping across the street. We needed to take a short drive to Fisherman's Wharf and aquarium.
Hotel is being remodeled and there were workers and supplies in the hallway. They quickly cleaned up when we checked in. The hotel is dog friendly and had a little care package for our dog. Conveniently located right off highway 1 and shopping area. Guests in next rooms were very noisy until after midnight so it was not a restful night. TV didn't work but staff was quick to come and reset. Too expensive for type of hotel.
