Palazzo Carletti is a beautiful B&B with ceiling frescoes and luxurious accommodations. It is located in the city center but not a busy part of the street. It has beautiful views of the Tuscan hillsides from some of the windows. The common area is lovely and comfortable. We had one glitch, the internet did not work in our room and, since it was Sunday, we had to use our wifi in the common area. No big deal, we were only there for one night; we wish we had scheduled more time here. The host was very friendly and provided information regarding the local restaurants and sites.

Recommended by Rick Steves, the travel guy, and he was spot on. The brother and sister team that run the hotel are great. Friendly and knowledgeable about the best things to do and see. Breakfast could be had for an extra 5Euro and it was well worth it. Best breakfast we had in our two week stay in Italy.

We had a lovely spacious apartment ('La Scalla') in the farmhouse, with great views over the countryside. It was very comfortably furnished with traditional furniture, and all was spotlessly clean. There was a private place to sit outside immediately by our door, and we enjoyed eating and reading there. There is a pool, again very clean, and the farmhouse is surrounded by olive trees and vines. The family make their own wine and olive oil, both of which are delicious.
From the apartment it is just a short (uphill) walk into Montepulciano, a delightful hill-top town, yet the apartment feels to be in the country, away from all the bustle and tourists.
The hosts are very kind and helpful, and Marina cheerfully coped with our feeble attempts at Italian. Antonella speaks good English and is home from work in the evenings and at weekends.
We would heartily recommend Podere Fontecastello.

Owned by Ana and Mario, this hotel is right at the main street in Montepulciano historic city center. The room was very comfortable, with AMAZING views, featured Erbario Toscano products (I bought some more to bring home with me), quiet and clean. They will park your car for you, which is very handy in these windy little roads. Breakfast was really good, including great coffee and regional specialties. I did not dine in their restaurant, but now I think I should have! Very authentic tuscan experience, personnal customer service, truly a gem!!

Made to feel very very welcome by Roberto in the lovely Montepulcianio. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was very good. It takes a while to get used to the idea of cake for breakfast. Roberto's wife made the delicious cake. We would definitely recommend to friends and others.

Newly decorated and fitted out in modern attractive style. Lots of space in modern clean rooms. Perfect location near centre of village and near shops, cafes and restaurants. Friendly and welcoming staff.
My sister and I stayed here for 5 days while traveling in Tuscany, and thoroughly enjoyed Albergo Il Rondo. It's a small property (7 rooms) situated in a beautiful garden just outside of the center Montepulciano. The family that runs the hotel is kind and hospitable, and we had a wonderful time. The room was comfortable, with great beds and linens and a well appointed bathroom. Breakfast each morning was excellent. It was an easy walk into the center of town, or to cut the walk, we did drive up and park a couple of times in the parking area close to the town gate- very easy to do. We found Montepulciano a very convenient base for exploring much of Tuscany, and I would definitely return to this hotel when we come the next time.
