"Fantastic Resort and Staff"
We had been coming to this hotel for years when it was the Ritz. The Hyatt made the resort much bigger; more beach area, rooms, facilities, fire pits, entertainment, pools, and bars. The property is beautiful, and a short 10-15 minute ride from the airport so you are enjoying the sun and the fun right away. We arrived before the room check-in time, but we made sure to have our beach essentials easily assessable in our luggage so that we could start enjoying the resort. We stayed on the Zilara side which is a bit quieter in the evening because the Ziva side has nightly entertainment. We had an ocean front suite which was amazing and very convenient to the beach. Also, the room was quiet, which is nice when you are finally ready to go to sleep at night.
The Hyatt retained a number of the Ritz’s employees so it was fun seeing those staff members again; many of whom we had got to know over the years. The staff gets a 5 star plus rating. The waiters, bartenders (Kenny and Neil), check-in crew (Carvet and Courtney), water sports (Andrew, Omar, Richard, and Dwayne), coffee shop (Sonia), and directors (Vishal and Kaye) were fantastic.
Highlights for us in no particular order would be: French restaurant, Jerk chicken/sausage lunch shack, Kenny’s Watermelon Mojito, the two outdoor restaurants on/near the beach for breakfast, the staffs’ constant smiles, and the private beach area (this hotel doesn’t share a beach with other hotels; so no random people on the beach).
